Unless your loved one to be is also a rabid gamer like yourself which is totally awesome, with Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Gears 3, Resistance 3 (jeez, a lot of 3s :/) Saints Row 3 and several others, have you first of all prepared your gaming platform of choice for consistant usage, second of all, prepared your room of choice for consistant usage, and thirdly, prepared your partner for not being seen for a few days, weeks, months, depending on how rabid you are?

Which games are you getting this fall? :D

I think I'll be fine because:

1) None of those games really strike my fancy at the moment
2) I'm going off to school and won't be taking a gaming platform with me.
3) I don't even have a significant other

So I'm good.

But hey, everyone else? Have fun. These games are looking good.

As I've said before.

Skyrim. That's all I need, I'm sure. Also interested in Deus Ex and Arkham City.

Oh, and I'll be getting the rerelease of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. But then I'll need to buy a PS3 first.

Fighting games on the 360 really doesn't work well unless you're playing on a stick.

Haha, it's funny that you say this from a strictly male perspective.

I happen to know a Nerd Girl that is probably going to be dumped by her boyfriend for most of the games you mentioned.

As for myself, none of those games appeal to me for a purchase. Skyrim will likely become boring after the first few hours, Modern Warfare/BF3 is the same old experience I could have had years ago with COD 4, the GoW series never appealed to me despite giving it a chance, and Uncharted or Saints Row I'll probably rent.

Unfortunately, I'll have to think of a more creative reason to get out of my current relationship. I could maybe fake my own death. :)

I'm only interested in Gears 3. I'm sure he'll play it with me if we're not crunching at work. Good to see where your priorities are, though.

Not many of the games coming out this year have caught my interest. Maybe Battlefield 3 as my best friend is Battlefield fan boy and it would be good to have something to play multiplayer. Deus Ex is the only game I have any interest in at all, so if I find myself with loads of time then I may pick that up. Guess my girlfriend will be happy bout this.

Skyrim, Deus Ex, Uncharted 3, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus collection, and Rage, are on my must buy list this year.

Anything else like Batman arkham city, and Dark Souls, are one's that I might pick up.

I'm not going to pick up Battlefield 3, or MW3, as war shooters aren't my thing.

Ah the joys of having no social responsibility. I'm more concerned about my work suffering than any actual relationship.

... god that sounded worse than I wanted it too >.>

I'm psyched for a lot of the games you put in the post, but as far as my significant other is concerned...if she wants to touch my penis, that always takes presidence over my gaming life. Sex>gaming. There, I said it.

Women have a tendency to take offense though, if you tell them the only alternative to gaming is having sex :D

Skyrim alone can make me a lonely man.

Luckily I heard that I can start a family in Skyrim.
So all is well....

You forgot to mention Assassin's creed revelations!! Which is on my must buy list along with Arkham city and Uncharted 3. Not much into military shooters so I take no part in the fan wars of MW3 vs BF3.

I am starting school in 10 days though plus I'm still working so I won't be playing as much as i would like to. Also, I have no significant other to worry about.

That's why you don't tell them, you just nudge them in that direction....or find a woman that turns into a nympho after 10pm...I love my wife....lol.

I just feel sorry for my boyfriend come November when Skyrim is released.

I just won't be paying any attention to the real world then...

My significant other, god bless her is well trained in my game addiction at this stage, i just tell her in advance when a game i have to play is out, and she gives me about 2 days with it, as long as i send her the odd text every couple of hours that im still alive.

Last time was Fallout:New vegas... next time.... probably Gears 3

Haha, I'm exaggerating of course, the topic was more to see what games people were pumped to get this fall because its been a while since I've seen the list of games releases so packed with awesome games all releasing around the same period of time, this = poverty. Can't deny I'm quite excited for a number of them coming out :D And there are quite a few I missed out on, people have made those clear here, lol.

Not that my gf minds anyway, as long as she gets her due attention :)

When you live with them, it isn't that hard to spend some time together. I've had to learn to take periodic breaks to at least check in with her.

That being said, most of the games I want are TBA. Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm, and Star Wars the Old Republic are what will take up my time like none other. They are slated for a Q4 release, but we all know how that works sometimes...

SWTOR seems the most likely to be released in the fall with all the devs lately being quoted as saying "Holiday 2011" for release. With each advanced class supposedly having 200 hour playthroughs.... I won't be doing much that isn't SWTOR, school, or work.

Acknowledging the existence of females would probably be an idea.

That said, while of the games you mention Skyrim is the only one I'm tentatively interested in, the rest of this year is still looking brutal. Space Marine next month, then Arkham City, then Skyrim and then The Old Republic? Wibble. On the other hand, my girlfriend has promised to play that last one with me.
