I have not played the game I don't own a Wii-U or Switch but so far I am utterly dissipointed in this game's soundtrack.
you lost me completely as soon as you said this.

Yeah, try again.

A game's soundtrack is supposed to add to the tone the game is trying to set. This game is about you being alone in the wilderness, with the vast open plains showing small signs of a world that once was, but has long gone silent. The soundtrack illustrates this perfectly.
holy crap for once i actually find myself agreeing with you.

this scares me.

You haven't seen my recent post haven't you and I had played it and I own a Wii-U now mind you, and I still don't like the minimalistic music played on the open world field.

And the actual music is at best servicable and at worse bland.

For how long though? 5 minutes? 10?

i'm nearly up to 100 hours on my copy and i still haven't finished the game. including the story cause i want to find all the shrines first. i've even heard of people spending more than 400 hours and still have stuff to do in it without even having downloaded any of the DLC yet.

i may have only played Uncharted 2 for like an hour or 2. and i didn't like that game at all when i played it. but i'm not about to pretend i know everything about it or the series.

basically i doubt you've played it long enough to properly experience the full soundtrack.

It's okay, serviceable. Would never single it out as anything remotely atrocious. You barely notice it.

i fail to see your point.

from the couple of hours i've played of it, game seemed extremely repetitive and the story very predictable. so yeah i think the games are overrated.

that's still not claiming i know everything about them though.

also i'm curious. just how long did it take you to wade through all the different threads and go right back to 12 months ago just so you could dig up dirt on me? i guess i should find it flattering that you care about what i think THAT much lol

I beat the game, and I still did not like the fact that riding my horse thorugh the field, its mostly this minimalistic piano crap, if they wanted to do no music, they should have have played any music at all in the field traversing part.

Sorry i had to sign up just to respond to this. Even tho there a lot ambient music. There still more than enough theme-ish music to go around. The theme to the villages are really nice. Especially Rito village and the music to Hyrule Castle and the Ending are Epic. Also i had no problem with the more ambient music. I especially enjoyed the Horse Riding Music.

While this video isn't about that piece of music specifically, I think it's worth mentioning for the thread. Overall, the game does some pretty neat things with its music. As someone who has only played it from a friend's console for about 20 minutes though, I'm basically just echoing what was said in the video, so don't take it from me. Give the video a look.

Since this thread is about the game's overall soundtrack. I think we can all have a richer, more informed discussion after watching this. After all, if anything it exposes us to plenty of the game's music.
