Browsing the Escapist website.

this thread is just out of curiosity . What means do you use to browse the escapist? Are you mostly on a smart phone ,tablet ,laptop , PC or any other device ?

Personally ,when i'm on the site i'm most likely on my iphone . If i'm not home it's a nice way to see what's happeneing while i'm traveling, and when i'm home , it allows me to do other things while browsing the site ( such as gaming on my console ).

If i am on my Desktop , it's because i'm watching one of the videos ( mostly Jimquisition or Zero punctuation ) , because they don't work on my iphone .

IPad, specifically.

I can't watch Escapist videos with it though, which is annoying.

If I'm home, I'll mostly use my desktop. Most of the time I'm browsing different sites at the time and it's just easy for me. I do however use my phone or tablet to browse the escapist when I'm not at home.

Desktop, trying to get round this site on a 4 inch screen is just fucking annoying, trying to hit quote or type out a message is a pain in the ass.

I just moved my 32 inch tv to be my monitor so I can watch Lisa Foiles in life size! (shes kind of scary this size!)

Everything is just so much more clear and easy to use on my desktop

Posts don't work at all from my phone, so I'll pretty much always use my desktop or laptop. Ocassionally I'll use a tablet but it will generally be for reading threads only...there's nothing like a physical keyboard for getting a message across.

Laptop, it's the only device besides a super old, slow desktop I have that can run the internet. Since I have a five year old flip phone, it would be impossible to view the Escapist,(or internet for that matter) when I am out of the house.

I've gotten pretty good at typing fast on my tablet, probably faster than a keyboard now... Which frightens me D:

Laptop/PC when possible, but sometimes I use my phone when I am out and about. I hate using phones for web browsing though and making posts is a nightmare.

Mostly on my PC, but when I'm bored somewhere, I'll pull my phone out and browse the forums a bit or maybe watch a video.

I've been having some issues with how my phone works on the site, though. If the page finishes loading, I'll wait for a few seconds and it will close the browser without any warning. It doesn't happen to any other site, just The Escapist. So I have to stop the loading process right before it hits 100% every time I want to load up a new page.

I think it's a problem with my phone. :/

99% laptop, it goes with me everywhere anyway and the Escapist really isn't great on a small screen / touch screen IMO. I'll occasionally browse on my phone but never post anything.

Always my desktop. I find it to be relatively easy to get away with tab'ing here to watch a video, or talk to people while I am doing something else with my PC.

I suppose I could try that with my phone type thing sometime....but I hate typing with those. XD

OT: I use my laptop. Most of the time, occasionally I go on my phone if I'm sort of lazy but it's also not as easy to browse. On a phone, it's hard to follow more than a thread or two, and normally I just go on the forums, open up all the threads that look interesting, then go through each. Thus a PC works better - bigger screen size makes for faster reading and switching tabs is easier and faster.

It's also the main reason I'd use a tablet or a phone in the first place. Sort of ironic.

Which is why I use a desktop PC for most of it.

Eh...it works if you're not trying much fancy stuff. I've done it and it's not abysmal but it's just a bit annoying (also - big thumbs make hitting the correct letter slightly harder) and editing a quote or even trying markup would probably make me just quit and go on the laptop. I mean, I've done it, that's why I know it'd just be easier to go switch to another platform than continue doing it on a phone. Also, long responses are hard to write and proof read. That's my experience with it, though.

Once my desktop died of old age, I could only afford a laptop. So that. But it's like a desktop to me. It's a got a pretty i5 in it too.

It can be rather 'interesting' especially when either the phone or the website decide I don't need to see that I'm typing in the text-box.
