So I have decided of after years of using a shared family computer to build my own. This is the set up I plan to build, does anyone see any overt problems with it? And im not sure how powerful it is in relation to playing current gen games on?

Case: LIAN LI Armorsuit PC-P50WB ATX
Motherboard: Asus Intel P7P55D-E Motherboard
Memory: CORSAIR PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 DIMM RAM Memory Module Kit - 6GB (3x 2GB)
Processor: INTEL Core i5-650 Processor 3.2Ghz
Graphics Card: PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 PCI-E Graphics Card - 1GB
Sound Card: CREATIVE Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium 7.1 Ch PCIe Sound Card
HDD: SEAGATE Barracuda Internal 3.5" SATA Hard Drive - 2TB

Am i missing anything? Thanks

I'd pay an extra 100$ and get a gtx 560, also sound cards aren't really necessary, your motherboard should have a decent one, unless you are planning to connect your PC to a huge stereo. If you can afford it, get a 128 GB SSD and use it as your system drive, your computer will boot much faster, and any games you can cram in there will load in seconds. Other than that, looks good to me.

You want to swap that card for a GTX460 as a bare minimum, and swap out the motherboard and chip for 2nd gen i5 (2500k or similar). Other wise ditch the Intel entirely and do it cheap with an AMD 955 black or similar.

It is true that you don't need a sound card anymore, but they do improve sound. Either ditch it entirely or go for an asus sonar dx.

More generally you would be able to play modern games on it, with only the card being underpowered, but the motherboard you're buying is a dead platform, LGA1155 is the way to go.

On top of the above suggestions
(Swapping out the older i5 for the 2500k, and going with a better GPU like the 560 ti or higher.)

Make sure you read into it intensively! It can be a bit of a complicated process the first time!

And drop the sound card unless you have a solid speaker system to connect to.
