You know what London, you keep flashing that sexy sun at me and I'll give you a nice treat later on ;)

You know, I could just make a thread about how stupid a $10,000 watch is but really, I'm just not in the mood for that. So let us talk about things we brought but seriously regret getting hours or days down the line.

Skull Candy headphones. Well I didn't buy them, I... allow me to explain. A few years back I brought new Sennheiser headphone and they were okay but an hour later, while listening to music, the sound would cut off just when the wire moves. So it was a problem when walking. I went back to HMV and they were out of stock in their store and the surrounding area. I then said,

"Can I have a refund",

then they came up with the bull crap of,

"Well because you brought this using your debit card, we can't give it back to you but can give you a new headphone from a different brand and pay you back the difference".

This happened when I just didn't have the confidence to fight further. If it happened to me today, then more would have happened. So I just said,

"fine how about the Skull Candy over there."

Took it, got the difference back, went home and believe me when I say, the package was a ***** to open. You would think it would be easy just by using tough scissors. NOPE, didn't make a difference. It was like everything was super glued down. Hours later, finally got it open, working hard to not damage it and... the headphones sucked. Wouldn't stay on my head properly while walking, it let in noise from the outside and I was just having a bad day. What I took from that experience? Don't shop at HMV as this wasn't the first time they screwed me over.

So what are your buying regrets and share your horror and pain with me. Let me feed on your HATE!!... er... sorry.

Side Note: You know who does good/great headphones but won't cost you an arm or a leg? Philips. No, I won't say Beats. Overpriced and mostly for bass.

Which Sennheiser model was it ? It must have been a pretty cheap one I assume. :p
HD something but it was £79.99 and felt smaller and cheaper than my previous Sennheisers. This was back in 2009.

They must have been the HD202 [http://headfonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/hd202-01.jpg] and yeah those aren't the best but definitively better than anything from skullcandy !

I went through two pairs of HD202 in about two years, I had the same problem as you, the cable is pretty bad and there's no way to replace it easily on your own. :/
The non bluetooth version of this; http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01673/Sennheiser-MM-450-_1673532c.jpg Same issue with you. The wire was way too thin and I can tell it was cheap too cause it would last long.

The previous Sennheiser I had before that was this (HD448); http://badassheadphones.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Headphone-Sennheiser-HD448-Reviews.jpg

It was good but when it came to playing music through phones at that time, the volume was just low and only really excelled when connected to the laptop.

Right now I'm regretting buying the NES remixed pack for the Wii U, I was under the (mistaken) impression that they where the classic games ported to the Wii U, not that they where using snippets from those games to make mini-games.

Yeah, I know it's trivial, but that's 40$ I'll never see again, and for now it's what I'm feeling buyers remorse for (I tend to get it every so often when I buy something I don't like after the fact).

Mass Effect 3. First game I ever deleted off my computer (though that was to nuke Origin). And no, it wasn't the ending. I never got that far. I hated pretty much everything about that game.

Rome: Total War 2.

This was the game that finally got me to stop pre-ordering anymore (except MGSV, because Kojima). It was such a simple thing; make Rome again, but shove it in the Shogun engine. Done.

Instead, we got this buggy, crappy, unworking mess that removed most things and streamlined processes somehow making them more complicated and difficult to manage. The AI is a joke, diplomacy was fucked, and all sense of fun gone.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Fantasy XIII-3

I like 13. I liked 13-2, kinda. At least 13-2 has a bit more exploration. It felt like the games were beginning to move back towards the older style of gameplay, including a large and sprawling plot with dozens of threads and exploration. Cool, thought it.

Then FFXIII-3 came out. This is the first Final Fantasy I simply got 20 hours into and stopped playing. I remember it clearly. I was on Day 7, trying to fight Snow, and I just realised that I hadn't had fun in hours. I turned off the game and went to do something else.

I have been pre-ordering every single Final Fantasy since 7. I own all of them. I've finished most of them. I loved Final Fantasy. I even liked FFX-2 and FFXIII, different as they were. But it was Lightning Returns that made me realise that this isn't the game series for me anymore. The direction has gone off into the worst excesses of anime, Lightning had clearly become the game director's waifu fucktoy (seriously, he has his girlfriend dress up as Lightning when they have sex), the music is terrible, it's Majora's Mask done wrong with the time stuff, the shitty, boring, unfun, no tactics combat that cannot decide if it's Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts or Dark Souls, it's just... everything is wrong with every single aspect of the game. Even the graphics engine was lazily done, and for a FF game to have bad graphics, something is wrong, because FF used to be the cutting edge of the damn stuff.

I bought the collectors edition and the walkthrough (for the pretty art). £70 I'll never get back. I'm not even excited for FFV, and I shan't be pre-ordering it.

Way, way, way back in time I was pretty hyped to get my first PC and had a little cash back from the government for overtaxing me for four years so was a little cash rich and I thought I'd go crazy and spend £200 on a DVD Writer drive.

Impulse buy from CEX (UK Store, shitbags the lot of them) and got a Pioneer 103 - got it home and my best friend's like, you could get the 105 online for the same price, so next day I took it back and they wouldn't give me my money back claiming all sorts of bullshit.

I went to see the manager and then he was like, oh, you should've brought it back the next day, and I was like, I did, they wouldn't except it, and he was like 'no, my staff wouldn't do that'!?! I was, erm, I was there, I don't like wasting bus trips to town for nothing you know.

That was the last time I used the tat bazaar and heard many bad stories from others.

Worst thing was I'd ordered the 105 drive that night so ended up with two DVD burners.

Also, ended up, didn't need to burn DVD's all that much, barely used either..

Mass Effect 3 - For obvious reasons.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - "Made for" PC gamers, by console tards.

Titanfall - Played it for like...a week, maybe? Then got bored. Very, very bored. Haven't touched it since.

Day-Z - It's so bad. So, so damned bad. Janky mess of half realized ideas and poor execution- And it's early access! Which means I can't get a refund! Ha! Yay for the future of the gaming industry! Amirite!?

And, in real life:

I made the mistake of going to a doctor when I had persistent pain, for several days, in my lower right abdomen. It turned out to be nothing

Apparently, a CT scan that took ten minutes (plus the visit itself) costs 5,100 dollars. And, to top it off, my insurance wouldn't cover it due to a technicality.

Nobody fuckin' told me that while the doctor and nurses were scaring me into the decision.
But, hey, what can you do right?
Die from something preventable because you're too scared to risk a massive bill over nothing?
Yes! Yes I can.

I can safely say that's what's going to happen because I can't afford this shit. Hooray.

I have two examples

1. Sly 4: I was meh with the game and didn't think it was as good as the first 3 but that's not the reason I regret buying it. I regret buying it because of that twist. It's not one of those pulled out of their asses twists it's more of a insulting to the series kind of twists that made me stop playing as soon as it was revealed.

2. HP 110-217cb computer or as I like to call it the empty shoebox: two things I've learned from this experience 1. Never buy a computer at a Wal-mart like area 2.do not believe The employee in Electronics division when you ask if the thing has a graphics card slot. I tried to look it up and apparently this thing doesn't even exist and when I told my friends That it didn't have graphics card slot they were baffled. At least I got a good monitor and speakers out of it.

Oooh ooh what was the twist? Can you spoiler it for me?

No wait, I just looked it up and...yeah. Hmm. I guess I would be okay with that. Really, the one thing that probably ticked me off about the Sly series is that a raccoon, a hippo, and a turtle all can't swim. Um [http://www.leelofland.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/push-off-of-steps.jpg] yeeeeeaaaaaaah [http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/07/27/article-0-0D2AA00000000578-483_638x419.jpg]. .

For me, my biggest recent buyer's remorse events involve classic arcade game purchases. All of them.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Collector's Edition
That was over $150 bucks (minus pre-order down payment) wasted on a game that was so bad that not even my more skillful cousins could get passed the first level... It was like shooting at sponges and the bullets going through the sponge's holes most of the time...

Other than that, my second gaming capture device kinda fits the bill for being over 200 bones... Although, to its credit, it did do what the box/manual described it to do, so I can only hate it from the pricing perspective...

And you will hear another bad story about CEX. I went to sell some games, DVDs and Blu-Ray for some cash. Killzone 2, FIFA 11, District 9, The Day the Earth Stood still, which many of these were recent and I saw they had the same products themselves stilling for over £10. It was over 20 things I took in total. When they scan the items I brought in here is what they said;

12p for this, 20p, £1.00, 20p, 50p etc. The highest I got out of something was £5 and that's cause it had multiple disk and other, forgot how much but it was high, a PS3 controller. In total, it all came to just £17.

£17!!! They were just going to resell those for so much more than what they are giving me for it.

At that time I needed the money and I promised myself to never be in that position against.

Another story I heard was someone took an iPhone 4s in, brand new hasn't been taken out of the box yet, took it to CEX. £80. I know same may say maybe it was stolen. True but then a store shouldn't buy it from them and sell it for over £400.

2 cheap Emprex TV's from Fry's electronics on sale. SO I get them home, they work a while, they both die at the same time. I investigate, and the capacitors are blown on the power board. Then I go through the trouble to replace the capacitors on the power board with higher quality capacitors only to have it pop and turn black as soon as I power it. Then I order a whole power board replacement ( luckily only one to see if it is worth fixing the other) and replace that only to have it work for a couple of more months before it died again. Now I have both TV's sitting here because the power boards they made for them are defective and if I order a replacement, it will be defective as well. I am still not sure what I should do with them currently.. I get mad just thinking about them.. Ahhh!!

Oh the other thing I regret, is all these warranties I bought from radio shack on products I purchased there.. Radio shack is going out of business, how does a 5 year warranty work when that happens? LOL

ESO. I played the open beta, didn't like it. A couple days ago my friend convinced me to give it a go. Bought the game, played it for a couple of hours and now I'm having serious buyers remorse. It's just not fun for me.

Let see-

Comand and Conquer 3. Ok techncially this has nothing to do with the game itself as it was my dad fault. I bought it but it didn't run on my pc so I figure I will keep hold onto it when I get a better pc. My dad was going to hold onto the stuff I don't need so I gave him the game. Years later when I got a new pc, first thing first I want to install C&C3 and asked my dad where it was and his reaction was pretty much "errr".

Alone in the Dark Collector Edition. I pretty much bought the game WITHOUT reading the reviews and was blown away from the trailers however the Wii version did NOT match the trailers shown on the xbox version.

A few Gundam models that I "fail" to assemble like the Zeta Gundam 2.0, Re-Gz, the Non HG Victory Gundam and etc. The problem with any models is that you pretty much got one shot to build it all perfectly and without a scratch and I was an ameteur back then. I suppose this is the reason why I no longer buy any transforming Gundam models, well ok the only successful one I did build was the HG Clauche custom.

Skull Candy head phones here too.

I had a set of SC earbuds that sounded amazing and never broke. Then I (thought that I had) lost them, so I bought a new set at similar price point. The new ones sucked. They sounded terrible and they cut out all the time until one side stopped working altogether. Luckily I found my good set, but I no longer had a set for home and a set for work.

Looking to get another set, I go to a store and compare prices. I was torn between a Sony pair and another SC pair, the latter being $10 cheaper. Like a sucker, I decide to save a bit of money and give SC another chance. Turns out they sound very flat and tinny. I still use them (they're over-ear and are great for keeping annoying people from talking at me at work), but I'm never buying Skull Candy again. My first awesome set must've been a fluke.

Also, Samsung blueray player

Got a pair of 'last year's models' for pretty cheap. My old Samsung TV is still working great, so I was confident they'd work well. At the end of the warranty, the one I kept refuses to play a movie all of the way through. It starts skipping until it freezes altogether. I look online and it turns out that Samsung's blueray players are frequently absolute garbage. Luckily the other one I bought is still working for my mother.

Back in like 2005 I was going to purchase a new laptop for myself. I had some money saved up and I was going to do some serious research to purchase the laptop that I wanted that would do the things that I wanted it to be able to do. My newly wed wife told me that she really wanted a certain type of laptop, because she had heard that it was a great brand and a good value. I decided to follow my wife's advice and purchased the computer without much research at all. That is the most regrettable purchase of my adult life.

I had even opted for the more expensive version of the laptop and it was still a horrible machine. My wife felt horrible about the whole deal. We gave the laptop away to family after about 2 years and built our own desktop for a fraction of the laptop cost.

I still cringe when I think about the money that crappy machine cost.

The Twilight parody Nightlight. It was the kind of book that's funny for two pages and then just drags. I was going to return it to the store, but I lost the receipt. I tossed the book in the bin.
