I feel that call of duty was created to honor soldiers past and present, and bring a little of the things that those soldiers went through to life for those that haven't served. I feel that call of duty has gotten really far from that with black ops and was wondering if any one else felt the same way or if some one could explain why black ops campaign still fits this role.

Actually, it was created to generate large rolls of money. Go figure.

Unfortunate, but true.

I don't think Call of Duty ever meant that. And even if it did to you, its not just Black Ops that doesn't fit, none of the recent games do.

I never thought of it that way before, but I can definitely see exactly what you mean; and in that case, Call of Duty abandoned this idea at CoD4. What a shame.

True, and this is something that we cannot escape, however it is also true the the COD series has changes substantially since its inception. COD 1, its expansions, and COD 2 in particular do shine a light on past military events and the sacrifices that the soldiers made... the MW series and black ops however are entirely fictional.

I agree, and I think the COD IP is poorer for it. Why it had to abandon this theme I don't know.. It could of done Vietnam, Korea, Iraq etc but instead they chose to go fictional.
