Let say you put 3 different art styles into one Animation
Would it work?
For example , we take art styles from 3 very different cartoons and combine into 1

Happy tree friends cute and friendly (But made to not stand out as much.)
+
Batman animated series, dark, bigger proportions
+
ahhhh! real monsters, strange looking, creepy

All very different looking cartoons , but if you put them all together , like different races of people or different characters have different art styles , do you think they could compliment each other or would one stand out and steal the "show"?

wouldn't work, imo.
some would definitely stand out too much, compared to others.

I say that if you advertised it this way, it could work. Some people might be put off if they see previews for a really artsy show and then there is just one terribly drawn character the whole time. What will determine the art style for each character? Will a slovenly character be drawn poorly while a neat character is drawn sharply and brightly? Will a caring character be, say old style painted onto the screen?

It could work.

If there is no reason for the characters to be drawn differently though, it could turn people away from the project as a whole.

Id have it as the heros being Happy Tree Friends style and some badguy in Batman style creating Real Monsters that rip Happy Tree Friend heros faces off.

Could have 3 dimensions that the races live in, and then 3 different versions of all the characters for each dimension. (Kinda like Jimmy Neutron/Fairly Odd Parents crossover)

I think they are all drawn in the same style. The only difference would be the pig, but his reason is that he's from the internet or something. Also the betty boop chick but she's only black and white. Still drawn in the same style. I don't think that's what he's talking about.

Well wouldn't they all stand out in their own way?
Say the Tree friends would be more colorful
Batman style , larger characters , bigger proportions
Monsters, Weird looking , kinda creepy in the way you don't want to look but you cant keep your eyes off them.

Yes but the plebs wouldnt get it, also if thats your only trick its kinda one trick ponied.

The object of any work of fiction is to enforce the suspension of disbelief, incongrous art styles would interrupt the viewers conscious flow (I think).

On that note realism & animation can fade between the two beautifully. In the Aftermath/Scanner Darkly
Very true , Ill put that into consideration.

Its a nice idea but I was thinking more of the characters have a art style to them selfs
and it seams natural to them , like different races of people are natural to us.

Didn't a show called Kappa Mikey try this? It sucked..
But did it suck because of the way it looked , or just crummy art writters?
Mostly the latter but the concept didnt appeal to me at all either.. I think it was some American style characters and some manga characters.

Go watch some Fooly Cooly, otherwise known as FLCL. That show switches between art styles all the time.

it would very much interfere with the actual full picture you'd supposed to be seeing.
