Can anyone recommend me a game similar to Chrono Trigger?

I've been playing through Chrono Trigger DS lately for about the fourth time and I was wondering if anyone knew any games similar to it.
Pretty self-explanatory really.

Try some early Final Fantasy, I guess. I'm not into JRPG's and I'm not thrilled with Western RPG's either.

Final Fantasy 6 or III was brilliant. It is the only FF where the main character is a spellcaster and female. Also while FF7 onwards got fairly emo. FF6 featured an understandably flawed (not emo) main character.

Also Kefka rules.

This. Final Fantasy IV is also quite good, and V is a lot of fun if you like job systems.

Closest in concept, I would recommend Radiant Historia for the DS. Classic turn-based style RPG, with a time-manipulation mechanic in the story. Should sound familiar, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Characters are pretty endearing as well, in my opinion.

If your looking exclusively for the DS I have no idea. Regardless of device the closest to Chrono Trigger would obviously be Chrono Cross - otherwise Radiant Historia.

Might give the FF games a shot, Breath of Fire 3, or Bahamut Lagoon. Valkyrie Profile is a nice deviation from the standard JRPG if that's all you're looking for - along with Legend of Dragoon. The Tales series is highly recommended (Symphoia - especially the first one). Secret of Mana and Evermore.

Tales of Phantasia.

At times confusing and direction-less but still a good Jrpg timey wimey game.

But if you're looking for just a Jrpg, Wild arms is a great one but it's for the Ps1 and Psn which might be no help to you.

You'll be hard-pressed to find another game that's anything like Chrono Trigger, but if you're looking for another light, cartoony JRPG experience, you can't go far wrong with the original Grandia - available on eBay (PS1) and PSN (PS3).

Grandia offers no time travelling or dimension-hopping, but it does feature a charming story beautifully told, with a rich, varied world and genuinely likeable characters. Of course, in this respect, I personally find Grandia and Chrono Trigger to be quite similar!

Every other game Yuji Horii has made has been better than Chrono Trigger. I'd start with Dragon Quest 9 Sentinels of the Starry Skies, wherein the bad guy has a reason to be redeemed at the end and there are gameplay mechanics that work.
