Should be able to, but for the record, this has a fairly good track record of estimating your system's abilities if you're curious:

try this, it checks your pc specs against the minimum and recommended specs and gives you a rating.

Edit: damn you foul ninjas!

I have a nearly identical machine, core 2 duo E8500 @3.16GHz, 4GB ram, and a 9800gt (which is pretty much the same card as the 8800GT, nvidia just repackaged it to resell one year later).

Skyrim runs nicely in 1920x1200 resolution with all settings on medium / high. The first night I played though, temps hit 65 degrees on the processor and 70 degrees on the graphics card, which are near dangerous levels, so I had to dust out my case and replace some old worn out fans, and now the temps are OK.

Bottom line: it will run, but don't let it overwork your machine, keep an eye on the temperatures and make sure your fans are running at full speed. You can use MSI Afterburner for the graphics card (any brand), and I use EasyTune6 for controlling temps on my Gigabyte mobo.

It looks like you'll be doing low graphics. That's a pretty low GPU.
