I am looking to get a new PC for gaming and am unsure whether the rig I have found is capable of running Crysis 2 at Ultra or Very High Graphics Settings.
Here are it's specs:

CPU: AMD FX4100 Quad Core (4x3.6ghz)
RAM: 8gb (1600mhz)
GPU: Raedon HD 6850 1GB (775mhz Engine Clock---DX11) OR Raedon HD 6870 1024MB (900mhz Engine Clock---DX11)
OS: Windows 7

Thank You :)

There's always [a href=http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx]Can you run it?[/a]
Based on a quick glance at your specs, I'd say it can't, though that is mostly a guess as I don't know exactly what you'd need.

Well I haven't bought it yet, so I can't do can you run it, and I just want to know what it can do.

Could it run Crysis 2 smoothly at a settigns level equivelent to that of the consoles? Also does anyone know any sites where I can test it without actually having the system; eg. select components and get back a score (but not game-debate that is too optimistic).

It depends on what resolution you want to play at. At 1080p you aren't getting ultra settings with the DX11 enhancements, you need at least a GTX 570 for that. If you are playing at a really low resolution like 1280x1024, you might be able to pull off ultra. There is an article here [http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-2-directx-11-performance,2983.html] that compares how different graphics cards run Crysis 2 with DX11 at different resolutions. For ultra you want a card that can give you a minimum framerate no lower than 26FPS. That system will definitely get you better quality graphics than the consoles, just not necessarily the ultra settings.

I will say if you are looking for a gaming PC, avoid AMD's Bulldozer FX chips. Their gaming performance is absolutely atrocious compared to similarly priced CPUs as they can't handle single threaded or lightly threaded workloads well. Its predecessor, the Phenom II X4 is actually a better performer in games. If you are looking for a more future proof system though, you're probably going to want to go with intel, the Phenom IIs are starting to show their age, and unless AMD can really improve things with their next set of CPUs they just won't have any viable competition to intel when it comes to a gaming CPU.

But the last one will have a Raedon HD 6950 1gb (or would the 2gb make a bigger difference?) instead.
Which if any could do the job?

It depends on which resolution you want to play at. Maxing out Crysis 2 at 1080p requires a lot of GPU horsepower, with the GTX 570 being the minimum, and dual GPU setups being the recommended option. All of those systems you listed will max out 9 out of 10 games out there, but all will struggle a bit with Crysis 2 if you want ultra with DX11 at 1080p. Unless you are playing at a lower resolution, I can only suggest you get the system with the 6950, but be prepared to turn a couple of settings down. 2GB won't make a difference on a 6950 unless you are running a monitor with a resolution higher than 1080p (ie. 2560x1600) or you plan to play the game across multiple displays. The only other reason to get the 2GB is if you want to be a little more "futureproof". Really, under almost all circumstances the 6950 GPU will run out of steam long before it needs more than 1GB of RAM. This won't change unless games start including some extremely high resolution textures.

Well what about if I only use Ultra DX11 settings on my 17 inch monitor and the next one down when I connoect it up to a 32 inch HDTV. Would it cope and run at a smooth rate.

Edit: And thats the last system on the list, which I have decided on.

Depends on what the resolution of your 17 inch monitor is. I assume the TV is 1080p, you will have to turn a couple of settings down with the 6950 to get an acceptable framerate. As long as the 17 inch display is a lower resolution than 1080p you should be able to pull off ultra with the 6950, though if the monitor is something like 1680x1050 or 1600x900 you may only barely pull it off. Don't expect 60 FPS on ultra from any single GPU for Crysis 2. That feat is only possible at extremely low resolutions ie. 1280x720 and that's with a really high end card.
