Okay so I'm playing L4D2 on the box tonight. I play a few rounds of versus without the headset cause my little cousin wanted to borrow it for Halo: Reach in the next room.I'm having a pretty good night; a few long Jockey rides, some really good booms, and a Tank car throw that had me laughing like a mad scientist. The Cuz gets done an returns the headset. I pop it on as a new round starts and say say a quick "Hey guys it's (insert tag here) I'm on Headset now."

there's a pause then a "Holy Shit"

no answer.Just more surpressed laughter. while we are talking Rochelle, Coach, and Nick go and get there shot guns I grab a health kit (It's and OCD thing I alway grab the health pack first)

Before I can turn to get a rifle they start shooting.

Oh god it's a girl, quickly purge the vile demoness and invoke the rite of purification. Meh, I tend to find those people in abundance on games where a player can do more harm than the game. (I.E. L4D kinda games where a single player vote can kick someone, get a restart, etc.)

Sometimes the people are just general douchebags, like the ones you were discussing, other times they are respectable players who occasionally act like pricks with their friends while messing around.

It's a power thing though in this case. They can't physically see you, and they feel you are in a minority as a female gamer, so they abuse it. (which is rather sad considering there are more female gamers than male gamers)
