Cooking is important. It's not taught in schools due to more focus on math and science due to the rise in information and jobs created by it. So, can you? Are you any good?

I cook a mean ramen, thanks to a recipe I've been tweaking with. I can also fry stuff, make a pasta, meat sauce and everything, and make soup. I've made a few sausage burgers too, and breakfasts are easy for me.

So, can you, how well can you, and what do you cook?

I can cook, pretty well if I say so myself. I can make most meals, but my absolute favourite & special is Lasagne. :) I'd like to thank my parents.. and my grandma for teaching me how to bake pancakes :D

I used to want to be a professional chef, so I studied, practiced, etc. I feel I am fairly proficient at cooking as a result. Even if I don't know exactly how to make something, if I know what it's supposed to taste like I can usually get pretty close just from what I know about spices and cooking methods. It's one of my few genuine skills. :p

I can. I just don't.

And by can, I mean "could produce something edible within 48 hours of trial-and-error."

Probably.

no but seriously i can probably make something really good if i follow the instructions on the box

I have a few recipes that I love to make, but I don't do it often. Laziness shall prevail. Perhaps if it didn't take 2 hours.

umm I've never really tried to cook...

I mean, i can boil some ramen if i really want to, but i usually don't. The one time that i tried to microwave some bacon, i didnt expect the plate to be scorching hot. i grabbed it barehanded, and threw it across the kitchen due to the burning. luckily, the bacon was all safe. Dont even get me started on the oven, I'm liable to start a fire.

I can cook. I mean, I'm no chef, and I have a tendency to burn myself, but I can cook well enoughto feed me and at least a few more people.

Yes, but it can be hard to work up patience and energy needed when in a given day might have 4 hours of free (as in non sleep/work) time to use.

I blame video games. Also, the internet. And apathy.

I'm roughly the same as you. I can cook most easy things, and things that don't require too much 'get and mix the ingredients yourself' in the process to make it.
