Guitar,Bass, and Drums. It seemed like more until I started typing it out. I guess that's it though. And technically my knees are too messed up to play the drums for more than two minutes at a time, now.

I've been playing Bass for about 9 years, four of which were at uni. I've been in a bunch of bands and done gigs and recordings and basically it's the best thing in my whole life.

I also write pretty average electronic music.

I feel like "pretty competent" on a tabla is "amazing" on anything else. Those things are haaaard. Indian rhythms do my head in.

I had to learn to play the recorder in the 5th grade. I. Hated. Every. Fucking. Second. Of it. You thought calculus was useless in school.

I own a keyboard and acoustic guitar. I'm semi-competent with either of them.

Guitar and piano, ever since I was 12. Prefer acoustic over electric, and baby grand over keyboards ( although those Korg keyboards are pretty nice. )

I used to be pretty competent on the piano about twenty years ago and have been trying to pick it up again recently, but like I said it's been a while and my inability to play like I know I could is leading to much frustration. I also play bass guitar and don't embarrass myself behind a drum-kit, but those are hangovers from my twenties rather than active interests.

In my old school we had a proper musical studio with impressive, expensive recording equipment and some really shitty instruments. A friend and I decided to make some music, in spite of not knowing shit about how to write songs, how to operate the machinery or how to play instruments. He chose the drums and I took the bass guitar, guitar and the singing. The results? Awful shit.
We improved quite a lot over the two years we spent there though I can't say we really got past the beginner levels.

www.myspace.com/wentbad for those intrested in ruining their ears. Wake Up... Time to Act! and Metal Pig II: The Journey out of Hell were the last two songs we made there. In my opinion the only ones that somewhat resemble music.
Still, it's all very nostalgic to me and I like listening to the songs once in a while.

Also played bass guitar for a death metal band for a while.

Yeah, we had to learn that too. 2 years of the useless thing. But we got to play at the Sydney Opera House at the end of the two years, so that was fun. Especially since there were so many other kids (easily a couple of hundred) on the recorder plus guys on proper wind instruments (sax, trumpets etc.) that no-one could hear if anyone screwed up.

I "played" violin for a year. My parents forced me into that instead of the guitar, which I actually wanted to play, and, being 13 at the time, I decided to rebel by not practicing. Yeah. By the end of a year I could kinda play "Jingle Bells." Good times.

I've got to agree. My mate plays the tabla, and he's received actual instruction in it. He's never received instruction on western drum kits or anything, but we were at another guy's house and he just picked up the sticks and played a nice beat.

I've been playing the bass for about ten years, although when I started I perhaps didn't practice as much as I should, so I'm probably not quite as good as you would expect from a decade of playing. That said, in the last five years I've been practicing pretty hard and playing in various bands, so I'm decent enough.

Other than that? I'm pretty decent with a harmonica and I dabble in the guitar and drums, but I'm not great at either (guitars are made for people with weird tiny dwarf hands).

I played clarinet through middle and part of high school. I wasn't especially good, but I played better than several others. That isn't saying much since in the band there were like at most a dozen clarinet players relative to at least 20 trumpet and 25 saxophone players. I've been meaning to take a crack at saxophone. Then I remember I don't have money to blow on musical instruments right now :(

Guitar, Piano, and the human voice.

Although I'm pretty out of practice on the piano. My brother took the keyboard, and there's no room for a piano in my tiny apartment anyway.

Guitar and tin whistle.

I've also got a ukulele, which I play from time to time, and I'm interested in learning to play the keyboard (which I also have) and bodhrán. (I bought one when I was in Ireland, but a family friend informed me it was probably mostly for decoration. You could still play on it, though) Bodhrán is really hard, though. T_T

I am getting really good with the electric bass. I borrow one a year or so ago to try with rocksmith, and I loved it (more than the guitar), so I started using it more and more, taking real lessons and I eventually bought two basses for me. Besides that I got flute lessons when I was a kid, as well as piano and drums, but didn't really care that much.

I've been playing bass for almost 20 years, guitar for about 15 years, and can handle the basics on percussion and keyboard instruments. With the former two, I've recorded maybe 3-4 different rock/prog/technical-hardcore/etc.. records worth of material and played in a few busy groups during the 00s. In the past five years, a tighter financial situation, changing tastes, and the fact that my group had two rental spaces get fucked up in two different hurricanes has caused me to put it all to the back burner. Since about 2011, I've been spending a lot more time collecting chamber music scores and studying modern classical music. I haven't got a clue what my ultimate goal is with that, but it's far and away the most interesting music I've ever encountered.

Trombone, guitar, piano/keyboard. I'm not exactly a genius with any of them, but I know my way around a fret board/key board/slide.

I played piano in high school. I still play it casually, but not, like, well or anything. Just decently. Thinking about taking it more seriously (I can play very well when I want to, but I usually lack the motivation) but financial situations and lack of formal musical education prohibit that.

Trumpet player here. Haven't been taking it seriously lately though as university has been taking up all of my time and I can't even set aside an evening to join a band. :/
