Can you trade in one version of a game for another?

I have Racer Driver: GRID on the 360 but my 360 got the RROD for the seventh time in a two years before I could play it. I'm sick of M$; not buying another 360. Anyway, do you think it'd be able to trade in the 360 version for the PS3 version at Gamestop or Play N Trade?

The place I bought it from won't let me return it cause I opened the case, deeming it used despite never being played.

It'll be classed as used if it's open. Simple as. You could trade, but you'll be lucky if you can do a straight swap. Won't know until you try, though. If you're a regular you could turn on the charm...

You wouldn't be able to trade it for a brand new PS3 version, maybe a preowned one.
