Can't believe I'm saying this, but I need help...

Usually, when I type these words, it's cathartic. I usually don't actually post these kinds of things, but I really don't see a way to help here...

Anyway, I've been helping a member of this forum for a short while now. I really don't know how much "actual help" I've provided him, but I'm still trying. I haven't heard back from him in over a week. This concerns be because I think he may have "taken the easy way out." I hope he didn't. Honestly, I hope he's still following my posts and will even see this one. However, I can't help but think that he is still following my posts, and SOMEONE can find him. He's a good kid and deserves to know that.

Is there someone, ANYONE out here that can help me in my quest(pandering here) to help a less fortunate kid than I? It would really be appreciated.

Let's hope he is still following. That's the problem with the internet, and really any kind of advice line, you sometimes just don't know what happens afterwards. I'd work on the principle that if you don't know, and can't find out then you may as well imagine the best has happened. Which is probably what has happened here. He felt better and so didn't feel the need to come back and say he was alright.

I would totally be willing to help anyway I could, however, I don't know what your asking for. If your asking us to try and find out about this kid you didn't give us a screenname or anything to go on, and if you just want us to help random people then I don't know, I don't think you made it obvious. Anyway, if you drop a screenname I'd keep an eye out for him.

Hmmm considering this is a internationally diverse forum you're going to have issues finding this person I believe... You may be able to find someone here that is living close by (in the same country) and is willing to make a quick local call asking if said person is okay to his parents or whatnot and saying he's just a friend. However, in this day and age even that could seem suspicious and possibly cause more problems...

I have been talking regularly with a girl overseas on a chat system on a different site for a few months now. Nothing saucey, just being friends, discussing games and stuff. As we grew closer, we'd tell each other about our martial partners - and i slowly came to realise that her husband was abusive. She mentioned many times that she would be abused if he ever found out she talked to me online.

We were discussing playing FF8 together, her with a PS2, me with my PSP, seeing as we both love the game...we were gonna play one day at a time, see how far each could get, what items and stats we could upgrade, etc...

...Then nothing. It's almost been a week now. And I'm quite worried about her.

Nothing I can do. She's a thousand miles away, and we never traded anything except vauge locations and our first names. All I can do is hope that she's only been sick or something...

...Just makes me feel better, putting it in here. Like...I'm able to tell someone. Like the OP said...cathartic.

It's no better when they are close trust me. I had a friend in high school, a very good friend and my best friends girlfriend for a time. Her step-dad abused her, not physically, but mentally and emotionally. All I could do was be there when she needed someone to vent to and talk things over with.And those times in school when she didn't show up I always worried that the guy had finally snapped and hurt her. But there was nothing I could really do, he never did physically hurt her but he was still a bastard, I can't explain how relieved I felt when she finally moved out of that house.
