News of capcom canceling Mega Man Legends 3 has made a lot of fans upset, so much that seth killian apparently got punched in the face by a mega man fan. There is also a chart showing how many times capcom has screwed over fans this generation.

i'm not a capcom fan at all, not into most of their stuff . But i have to say releasing ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 a couple of months after Marvel Vs Capsom 3 with no option to upgrade from MVC3 to UMVC3 through dlc is kind of a dick move.

A lot of companies do dick moves, but so far this year Capcom and Nintendo seem to be taking that cake and halving it between them. Fat bastards.

Nintendo's dickishness comes from their refusal to port those three JRPGs here. There's obviously a market for them.
I dunno, I think Capcom has them beat just due to the sheer amount of different fanbases they've pissed off in the past year alone.

Capcom has really been mistreating their fans and their response is pretty vitriolic to say the least. Boycotts and such, though how effective it will be, I dunno. You got a source about Seth Killian getting punched by a Mega Man fan? Sounds hilarious. And I'm extremely glad I held off on getting MvC3, now I wonder if I should wait another year for the "Arcade" edition. >.>

Bah, I don't get violent because of a lack of any decent Megaman X games.

There hasn't been a decent MMX game since the early PS1 days. Major shame, too, since the original MMX is probably one, if not the best Mega Man games out there.
Pretty much. We all know the guy that created the series wanted to stop with X5 and Capcom didn't. Big surprise, but if they were going to do that, they should've run with it in a whole better medium. Like...

Sigma should've been found to be self-cloning and essentially merged with Australia like planetary cancer, essentially like the Devil Gundam.

There should've been the rise of a genocidal Reploid group powered by Zero Virus cores, calling themselves simply "The Masters" (More than eight, BTW.)

If you had to make new characters to get people more interested, MAKE GOOD ONES. Ones with an interesting backstory and REAL character.

Basically, if they were going to try and run with it, they should've tried harder. Megaman X was the darker-and-edgier Megaman world, a tale of 'After The Apocalypse'. They could've done alot better with it.

I think Capcom does do quite a bit for their fans but, and this can be easy to forget some times, they're also a business.

A few fan oriented things they've done lately:
- Working on the release of SF3:3S Online Edition. A game that virtually killed the Street Fighter series and one that Capcom never really had to return to. Fans wanted it and asked for it for years and Capcom is not only releasing it, but they've added in new visual filters, a new training/challenge system, a bunch of fan oriented unlockables and a solid online mode. Oh, and they're only charging $15 for it.
- Working on Street Fighter X Tekken. Fighting game fans have been clamouring for this sort of cross over since Capcom last did it with the still beloved Capcom VS SNK 2. Now Capcom is not only doing it, but it's running on an entirely unique fighting system and is set to include characters fans have been clamouring for for years.
- Releasing UMvC3. Not only does it include a couple of much wanted characters, but it also includes a full re-balance, tweaked game systems, an improved online experience and, potentially, a better story mode. They're also releasing it in one bundle which keeps with a tournament friendly set up and keeps the price lower than if they nickle and dimed fans with a piece meal approach.

It's easy to choose to overlook the good things they are doing simply because what they have chosen to do isn't "your" game.

Holy crap typing on an iPod touch is hard.
Well that's really Nintendo of America's fault. Some of those games ARE getting localized for Europe.

Capcom's beating heart, however, is responsible for essence of assface that is the MML3 cancellation.
