does this mean we are gonna have to have a cheesy romance story line and a black stereotype friend to make it more western?
like silent hill homecomming?

I love brash generalizations and sweeping assumptions (Number 2 is going to suck now, right?).
Makes me remember I'm on the internet.

The game did have a Japanese feeling to it. The dialog, the characters, the story...all very eastern. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's true. I didn't know Capcom made it when I tried the demo, but I knew it was a Japanese company right away. Once I saw it was Capcom, it just made sense.

We'll see how this works with number 2!
So long as I still get to kill hordes of undead with park benches, I'm sure I won't be unhappy.
I never said it didn't have a Japanese feel. Most other countries think that Americans can't relate to things that aren't American, like we're in our own bubble. And the sad part is that they're mostly correct. (Freedom fries?) So I'm saying the game is going to be stripped of some of its uniqueness because of those overpatriotic people who try to build up the States and demonize other countries. (i.e. Republicans)

EDIT: AAAAAND, I'm on probation for saying that some of the people in my own country are intolerant, pretty much proving my point right there.
Your logic makes no sense. Your first bit, (most countries blahblah) makes sense. But you just kind of jumped off on a tangent. Disliking something different has nothing to do with being overly-patriotic, and it sure as hell has nothing to do with being Republican.

I don't like Japanese things because I find them weird. When I don't buy Japanese things, I'm not building up America. America scores zero points. It's just that I don't like Japanese things. Hell, I'm not even bashing Japan. I'm just ignoring them. They don't gain or lose points either.

And, on topic, this makes no sense because, as said, I don't like Japanese things but I fucking loved Dead Rising.

Your probation is fucking retarded, though. I'll give you that.
That's the issue, Americans aren't very much exposed to other cultures, so many of them come off as weird. As I said, many Americans are in a bubble. Hell, neither of my parents, who are in their 50's have left North America in their entire lives. Now, I'm not insulting you, since I don't know you, but you have to admit that we're a pretty closed off country.
Well this unfortunately also has to do with our geography, not just because of close mindedness.

you make no sense whatsoever, read the rules pal, bashing people in general more offen then not ends up in probation, if not worse

OT: Great... take a idea that works and screw it up, why not.
Nice spelling. I've already repeated this in another post, I'm not going to do it again for someone who can't spell "sense."
look at your qoute, i think i spelled it right.
Yeah, because you edited it, and let's also not ignore the fact that you just misspelled "quote".

This sounds like a huge mistake, it was bad enough that they took the photography part out and now this >.<. It best not turn into what's essentially one player L4D or some other typical zombie shooter.

I said Americans, not all Americans. It's called speaking hyperbolically. Obviously I don't think all Americans are intolerant, especially since I'M AN AMERICAN.

I can actually relate to this completely. I could definately tell, looking back, that it was a Japanese made game.

Nice comeback. And last I checked, correcting the spelling of someone insulting my intelligence isn't ban worthy. Nice try.

I am confused as to how it was too Japanese, like I noticed refrences to other capcom games and I am sure that wasn't the case, yea that white lady had the stereotypical huge boobs the Japanese put on every woman that has a pair of legs, and there was a samurai sword, oh yea and the whacky villains that every Japanese protaganist must face, but other than that I really had not noticed, it was a great game and I loved every moment of it, if they want to change some things then thats cool too but here is hoping that its as loveable as the first one =]

This is the internet, you have to explain your text.

Also, I noticed you DID say "most Americans" so I apologize for my first reply to your statement about the post that got you on probation.

Whoops, sorry. It wasn't abundantly clear.

OT: I can kinda see what they mean by "Japanese" in terms of gameplay and characters, but it wasn't over the top. Besides didn't DR make it to platinum hits on xbox? Last time I checked that meant they were successful.

I want a zombie game where your in a infested city with a few companions, and get to choose where you hole up and need to go out and forage for supplies while the dead try to break into your safe house repeatedly.
Full day night cycle , basically your in a living breathing world... with zombies.
Sightly of topic there.

I didn't really play enough of the game to get any reliable opinion. I stopped near the begin because the games fails to specify how to shake zombies off when they grab hold, leaving me to mash buttons and pary I hit the right ones. I also hated how free mode had you need to eat every minute or you die. I don't think people starve to death in four minutes.

As to why I quoted you don't say just because something changes that means it's garenteed to be crap. I get enough of that crap from senior citizens. And who actually uses the term freedom fires anyway? They shouldn't even really be called french fries either since they come from Belgium.

Hey, as long as they fix the control... I'm happy. That was pretty much what put me off of Dead Rising... the controls. I don't know why but there was just some thing not quite right about them. They felt sluggish, I can't pin point on exactly what was wrong with them but that just didn't feel right. Improved A.I for those you rescue would be nice, and if a pseudo-Otis like character turns up... allow me to cut the bastard off. That was the biggest pain in the last game, if I tried to skip he'd just keep calling me. I hope we can take pictures again but the camera controls need find tuning too.

I wouldn't say "too" japanese. I saw influences. What with the mega man stuff and the photo taking. I still didnt like the timer thing. Of course this game was made by Capcom so not who can blame them.

See, there's also the inaccuracy of your original statement, though. If this thread proves anything, it's that Americans didn't give two shits about Dead Rising being "too Japanese".
