What about anything that punishes people for being poor, in the wrong place at the wrong time, or historically disenfranchised?Free Thinker said:Yes. Anything that rewards people for not being lazy or stupid wins in my book.

Yup. That about sums it up: Capitalism is "Only the strong survive" and "Work for and earn your money". That's the way it should be.

I would argue that the bigger problem in africa is that there are too many people. People were able to survive off the land in africa for thousands of years, the only reason they dont have enough resources now is because there are too many people. But, thats just my oppinion.Kwoodchuck said:feather240 said:I-lwm3398 said:Yes. Anything that rewards people for not being lazy or stupid wins in my book.

yeah but it isnt about being the strongest, things lead up to a nations inability to have there economy thrive. sometimes historical circumstances lead up to its failure. is africa going to improve anytime soon? not likely. why? historical globalization. britain colonized it and now africa is starved of most resources.
Well, I guess that would depend on how one defines "capitalism", doesn't it?Pimppeter2 said:Define "punishes"

Capitalism places more value on money than on human beings.
Oh, what am I talking about? Sorry, I forgot capitalism is the only reason why people are greedy.

Britain colonized the US, and last time I checked we're not doing all that bad.Kwoodchuck said:yeah but it isnt about being the strongest, things lead up to a nations inability to have there economy thrive. sometimes historical circumstances lead up to its failure. is africa going to improve anytime soon? not likely. why? historical globalization. britain colonized it and now africa is starved of most resources.
