Cave Story

Doesn't sound like much of a game and being shareware probably doesn't excite most of us, however, this is one of the most challenging and dynamic games I've ever played. Has anyone else played this hidden gem? If so have you accessed the Sacred Ground?

I have no idea what "Cave Story" is and am probably going to google it and not get back to you, because I will be playing it.

I have gotten to the sacred land, but never beaten it. In fact, I've never beaten the game, because I tried to do the secret level on my first play-through and just can't do it.

You just found out about cave story? Me and many of my friends have been playing the game for nearly 3 years now. It is one of my favorite games. Yahtzee has mentioned it in Extra Punctation, the WiiWare remake got quite a bit of coverage in magazines and internet sites and very good reviews. The game is considered to be one of the best freeware games of all time! How have you avoided it all this time?

And you have to do many specific things in order to access sacred ground. I won't go into detail about it, but there are many things you have to do. Just google it.

I'm currently on the balcony, about to beat Misery, then go and beat The Doctor's first form, narrowly beat his second form, and then get my ass handed to me by his final form. Go me.

Awesome game, highly recommended if anyone hasn't played it for some reason.
You need to download an english patch though or at least that's what I had to do when I played it, maybe things are different now.

Though if anything it was too easy.
Still, one the best games out there (Up with Deus Ex)
