The big thing is is that they removed the headstones but not the bodies.

What are your thoughts about this?

Me? Well this right pisses me off, enough said.

I think it's just wrong... There are such shortages of cemetaries where I live, nd it is disrespectful to the dead for sure... it's wrong. What if a family member wants to visit a loved one that has passed on? Bring Fifi for a walk?

They could just move the guy or set up a nice little memorial for him with in the park and name it after him or something.

Ya, but they don't count as much.

after x amount of time they dig up old bodies and incinerate them, like 2 generations afaik, or as long as you bought the plot, doesnt work for family crypts or soldiers graves i think

Let the bodies hit the flow! ... I mean water slide? :p

OT: Anyways. I think it is not that nice. But I think they might think how they actually do it, not just plant trees of the graves and such.

What does it matter what happens to your body when you're dead? If the cemetery is old enough, the bodies are decomposed anyway. There's nothing left of them. Turn it into a shopping mall for all I care.

If the familes care enough, they can exhume the casket (what's left of it) and put it in another hole in the ground. Cemeteries, IMO, are just a waste of space though. There are plenty of ways to honor the memory of the dead without digging holes or making headstones.

I've got no problem with that. Cemeteries are stupid - dead people are dead, and if anything deserves respect it's their now forever ruined and rotting neural connections in the brain and not their empty husk of a body. Your body is just a sack of shit that's not worth anything, your persona is what matters.

Corpses don't deserve respect. And cemeteries are just wastes of space.

Somewhat more on topic, considering how long it usually takes a body to decay (probably slightly longer if they make an even bigger mockery of circle of life and death and stuff you with preservatives so you look good on your funeral, which is bloody retarded) - it's going to take just a few years for most of your body to decay although your bones will probably stay there.

So most of the bodies in the cemetery will probably be completely deteriorated, and generally 6 feet under and possibly surrounded by pieces of the decaying casket. No fucking dog, especially with it's owner right next to it, is going to dig out 1.5 meters of dirt and earth trying to get to something.

I haven't seen to many dogs digging something up from six feet under.

This is a cultural difference. The US doesn't have quite the lack of land that other countries do. So it became traditional for the purchase of a cemetery plot to be permanent. Usually the land would be purchased, then the plots sold, the money would pay back the owner of the land and include a tidy profit and the rest of the money would be held in trust to pay for the maintenance of the grounds. While in Europe the promise of a permanent burial was never explicit.

It's that cultural difference that is the result of the outrage by the veterans. It's not overly uncommon for cemeteries to be turned into something else, but the bodies are usually moved first, with the new owner of the land covering the expense.

I could just imagine a little girl walking her dog when all of a sudden the dog starts digging up dead bodies.

What's the big deal? The dead don't need the land, so you might as well put it to some actual use.
What if some of the dead were YOUR loved ones? the ones you truly miss and respected? the ones you actually knew quite well and cared for? Would you still think it's ok that they let dogs sh!t on the grave of your wife? With her still IN it? I personally wouldn't want that, use the land but REMOVE THE BODIES FIRST.

Personally, I wouldn't care that much if I was buried in that cemetery. Mainly due to the fact that I would be dead and wouldn't really care what happens to my body afterward. If my family wants to stick it in the ground for a couple centuries, fine. No skin off my nose...until I start decomposing. If they wanna send me off the coast of Cape Cod in a burning wooden raft, I wouldn't care. I'd be dead, wouldn't feel a thing. I can understand that the families of those veterans would be upset, this did happen out of the blue from the looks of it. But what they need to know is that the thing 6 feet under that dog crap, isn't what they should be treasuring. It should be the memories they shared with that person that they should truly keep and I don't see them being capable of putting a dog park on your memories.
