Part of why I haven't played Dark Souls 3 yet is because I'm waiting for Dark Souls 3's SotFS equivalent. What do you doods think are the chances of such a re-release?, and what should be the cutoff when it comes to waiting for one.

Gonna guess highly unlikely as FROM is probably well into development of whatever their new IP is, and possibly a new Armored Core reboot of some kind. To digress per the latter I'd be interested in checking it out, but don't see how or where they'd take it beyond collecting parts for and customizing mechs. It would be challenging to appeal to a typical Souls fan because it likely wouldn't have the same sense of mystery and adventure.

Having said that, there's always a small chance that yet another edition could surface, but DS3 already had a "complete" [http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Dark+Souls+3+The+Fire+Fades+Edition] one drop shortly after the last DLC. I think the DS2: SotFS was mainly remastered to appease fans who were rightfully disappointed over the visual downgrades from what was originally intended.

I doubt it. I never played vanilla, but didn't SotFS for DS2 cause a shit storm, mainly because the two servers weren't compatible? Seems like it caused a lot of animosity and bad blood toward that game, as people saw it as a cash grab, and it divided up the multiplayer community.

Are you referring to releasing the entire game again, only with the DLC in it? Because if you are, Saelune is correct: it already happened a while back. There was no big announcement or anything, but it is out there in the wild now.

If you mean, "Change some of the lore and the world to make the story work better", I say not a chance. FROM Soft has made it pretty clear that they're done (or taking a long break) from Dark Souls, and I don't think they want to put the effort in to tweaking a game that they're done with.
Also, Scholar came about because Dark Souls II story was a bit...spotty. And I think that, after they released all the DLC and built more lore for their game, the team went, "You know what? We can do better. Let's get back in there and fix some of this stuff."
