(this'll probably be my only post here even though I'm a regular watcher of several Escapist video series.
)
Now, YouTube has made a lot of changes to its site over the past year or so, if like me, you have a simple, small channel (less than, say, 1,000 subscribers, or even less than 5,000), you may have noticed that your channel has become much quieter lately, and it's due to these changes*.
Unfortunately, if these changes do go ahead, then it's about to get a whole lot quieter.

To quote the guy himself, [we] need it to go viral. To help, simply add the video to your Favourites, rate it 5* and download the video onto your computer and reupload it onto your channel as a video response. The more it's uploaded, the more the issue'll get noticed.
Spread the word; if you go to any other forums, post this as soon as you can. (but make sure it hasn't been posted already; we don't want duplicate topics now, do we?)

So YouTube, a site based around videos, the majority of them being user-generated, is going to push the smaller channels like my own to one side and focus on premium content after all the trouble with Viacom, Warner Music Group, English Premier League and so forth. I mean on one hand, this would reduce the chance of yet another lawsuit; but on the other, channels like mine and yours are going to be quieter than ever and with the premium content as its main focus, anything that might fall under Fair Use (parodies, commentaries, criticisms etc) is going to be removed.
We, the small users got YouTube the popularity and social impact it has, and we're just going to pushed aside? What, no flowers at the door to say "thanks for the support"? "thanks for getting us where we are today"? You're f---ing welcome, GOOG. Here's something you should consider [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d7/The.Pirate.Bay.Cartoon-small.png].

End rant.
(*case in point: I had a video that was uploaded in November 2006 and in the first year alone, managed to get ~53,000 views, which to me, someone who's been here since 2006, made only 22 videos and has only 40-odd subs, is an achievement. Now, it stands at 56,000. Something has stopped it from getting noticed (granted I don't like the video that much, but I still got joy out of getting a new comment on it giving praise to the video))
