I know im not the ONLY guy who spends a long time fooling around with character creators... right? The whole idea of creating a unique persona is something that never gets old in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

I adore creating characters. I spend more time making 15th level characters in Neverwinter Nights - Hordes of the Underdark than I ever have playing the game.

I always enjoy crafting my own little persona. Sometimes I like to make it like I am; sometimes not...

I'd have to say my favorite is my Boss in SR2, though. He's a badass, but classy.

I like having the option to make my own character and I think it could be used more in multiplayer so not everyone is the same random guy running around

I do love a good Character Customization function.
It helps to make the character feel more like what you want it to be, even if you want a Character with Pea-sized Eyeballs and a Nose that engulfs his/her entire head.

I never find the customization options to be enough. If the game lets you choose between ten different shades of eye color, I wish I could customize the armor. It's just never enough...

Character creation is the only reason why I (or anyone) played Spore.
I go pretty in depth with it, usually.

I spend forever deciding on faces, and then item customisation.

Curse you ST:O draining all of my Energy credits making me change my mind on ship types!

gee the create your character is cool , especially in sr2 ... there is one thing i hate is i can't have a topless female or fat guy with man tits due to the naughty bits police

any cheats to remove the pixels would be cool as long as i don't get banned or fucks my 360 up

This mechanic had an interesting implementation in White Knight Chronicles.

When you start a new game, it has you create a character. You then have that character in your party. However, your character is not the protagonist. Hell, no one even talks to you. You're just in the background of cutscenees.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE character creators, if a game has character customization that's a huge plus for me. '

My favorite characters I've made are:
My guy in Saints Row 2, he was bald and had no eyebrows (dude was in a damn explosion) and he wore a purple suit and matching fedora.

And my Fallout 3 guy, badass bounty hunter with an awesome fedora.

Hmm, I think I have a fedora fetish.

I spent many hours on smackdown vs. raw character creation. (I don't even like wrestling)

Yeah, I spend an hour each time I make a new Shepherd. Strange thing is, they all end up looking almost exactly the same.

I love character customization, but when it's as lame in Mass Effect 2 where you can only change the head and nothing more it gets really annoying.
Phantasy star was great at customization. You could make them really fat if you felt like it.
Hours of hilarious fun.

Character creators are meh for me, because I'd rather actually play the game than decide on my looks.
This always leads to me hating the look of my character, of course.

I usually end up spending an hour with the character creator, but only because I think the generic character model (especially in Oblivion) doesn't look good. I usually end up with a character that looks great except for that one slider I forgot to fix. My ME character looks cool except in bright light, when she looks like she just soaked her face in olive oil.

I usually just make something that approximates my appearance, then move on, since it rarely has any impact.

I love character customization, but I'm confused why some of them make terrible facial hair. In Oblivion and Demon's Souls (which have very similar character creators), you can't choose from a list of beards and mustaches. You have to use the silly sliders to make it darker and lighter, which also affects the skin around it. So if your beard is really dark, the skin around it is really red, and it seems as if it's burning and you're in pain. :p And you can't even choose a color for your beard, it's just dark blue (at least in Demon's Souls, can't remember with Oblivion).

I've always enjoyed creating characters for multiplayer games, but sometimes when you have so many sliders, I become a bit annoyed since it's hard to make a normal looking character.
