Hey, no one ever said sexism was exclusive to Men. And hell, now we just get to sit back and laugh at the doomed relationships of the women who believe this nonsense.

(Though I must admit, my bullshit-ometer is ticking pretty furiously. Damned thing reads like a parody worthy of the Onion)

Just something you should know: If you're going to link an article, you really should either copy-paste in the relevant bits or give a summary of it as well.

Just a quick sentence and a link comes very close to having insufficient material in your post which can be considered an infraction by the Code of Conduct.

As for the article itself? Yeah, I'm going to go with Bobic on the bullcrap detection. I REALLY hope it's satire. If someone believes it to be the literal truth? That would just make me very sad.

I thought that was a pretty hilarious read. I don't know what else to say really, it's so much bullshit it just can't be taken seriously.

Am I a happier man? No! But I'm better!

When I saw the bolded excerpt "Men know there is no way they can survive without a woman to help them", my brain recoiled, and now has no pithy snark to fling at it.

All I can do is point and shriek "LOOK! LOOOOOOOOK!" like I'm watching "The Amazing Bulk" all over again.

Is this what woman who read Cosmo think is "flattering" to them? Implying that they have such poor taste in men that they need to teach them simple survival skills? Man, Cosmopolitan may end up being a pariah to my future relationships.

Eh, I usually go for "it's probably not entirely serious" whenever I see stuff like this, but remember, there's just as much social retardation among women as there is men.

Keep in mind this article appears to have been written by a man, so it seems to be a pretty blatant (and kinda funny considering the shitstorms we had lately) joke.

Yeah, this.
Also, it's fucking Cosmo. The only people I know who actually have read Cosmo just did so when they were still virgins to read the sex stuff.

sadly its also cosmo the, are we to assume former, standard bearer of "third-wave" feminism...
What.
No.
Are you seriously trying to argue that Cosmo is a feminist magazine?
This is where I smack my head against the wall repeatedly.

But I guess we're the big bads now.
Watch out, the feminists are coming.

I'm guessing the reason Sleekit associates Cosmo with feminism is that Helen Gurley Brown who was the editor of Cosmo from 1960s to 1990s was a self-described feminist and a vocal advocate of the sexual liberation of women. That doesn't mean that the magazine itself is feminist though, and I would laugh if someone argued it was.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/17/living/helen-gurley-brown-legacy

CNN on Helen Gurley Brown
On the one hand, she was an independent, powerful woman in publishing who talked frankly about sex and encouraged women not to see the act as shameful, said Jennifer Pozner, director of Women in Media & News. On the other hand, she created "one of the most body-shaming, insecurity-provoking, long-lasting sexist media products of the last 100 years."

Yeah, I remember reading one recommendation to put a doughnut at the base of your partners penis and eat it off.

How on Earth is that erotic?

I, for one, definitely do not look sexy eating doughnuts.

How i miss the days where the majority of men were like al bundy or homer simpson and we were proud. When did things change when did men stop watching football with thier hands in thier pants while drinking gallons of beer and eating pizza and start waxing and watching sex in the city with a bottle of chardonnay.

Everyone should take a lesson from this guy in how to be a proper man

Well then.

I feel that I can only express myself adequately in reaction gifs.

EDIT: I mean, come on! Come on!

What the hell, Cosmo?! 5 minutes later, and still, my mind lingers on how awful this idea is. FOR EVERYONE. Not just those involved, but everyone.

I guess... Someone, somewhere might be into that? Maybe?

I think I need a drink.

Regardless of the validity of this article, as a married man I want to say someting;

BOTH parties involved in a marriage will change over time, that's just how it is. I've changed, and so has my wife. That's because in a healthy relationship you learn and grow from one-another.

I used to be very strict/tight with money, now I'm a little more liberal and can enjoy some finer things. She was never into "nerdy" shows like Avatar or Ghostbusters, and now she loves to watch them with me. Being from two different areas (I'm from Ohio, she's from french-Canada) we have developed a wide pallet in terms of the foods we like, varying in everything from traditional french to spicy mexican and southern comfort food like biscuits and gravy.

In a healthy relationship change will happen naturally, but if you find that you have to change the person you're with to be "happy" then you are probably with the wrong person.
