Kind of bizarre really, but I'm honestly fine with this. If DICE can't make the game that's right in front of their face that everyone's been asking for, I'm happy to buy it from someone who will.

The question is, what will Valve do (if anything) about such a shameless clone being sold on Steam?

More likely some con artists are trying to make a quick buck by repackaging BF1942 as their own game and cashing out before EA catches wind of the IP intrusion.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Well, considering that this would literally be theft, yeah, valve will pull this before it comes out once they are made aware of it.

That doesn't even look to be a clone. That's the actual game they're going to be selling as their own. Oh China.

Reading the title, I thought for a moment it was Battlefield 1942, albeit depicting the Chinese theatre of the war against the Japanese or something.

Alas...

China never learned. They going from bootlegging to just outright stealing now. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really want to see EA sue whoever is responsible.

It's a weird day when EA is the lesser of two evils.

Then again, can you even download BF 1942 legally these days? Are the servers still active?

Probably. One can dream, though.

They're still pumping in the U.S. even after 17 years, while Japan and Western Europe have populations too, mostly centered around the Forgotten Hope Secret Weapons mod, but some for the Vanilla game too. Sadly in Australia they dried up when the Gamespy game browser service was shut down, so down here it is no more.
