Seems after years of letting its big tech dabble in big data, China has decided that enough is enough.
Surprisingly the result is pretty similar to the EU version. Who would have ever guessed this development. Seems the reason was growing unrest over companies micromanaging pricing based on estimated purchase power extracted from the data of the individual and other abuse of personal data.
Of course national authorities can still do whatever they want.
But where will it lead ? If both China and EU make data gathering and using difficult, might that become a new global standard ? Will the US follow or try to go their own way ?
