Chopped off subtitles

I watch a bunch of different subtitled movies and anime, and i realize that my TV chops the lower part of the text. And its not just anime, i'm watching CJ7 right now and its chopping them, same with foreign films from other countries.Any ideas to why this is?

Also, this is a cheapie analog TV, so i realize that could be the reason for this, thought you ppl might know something about this.

There could be two reasons behind this, the first is that if it is a widescreen analog tv the subtitles could be chopped off because of the picture mode it is in (read the instructions on how to change this).

The second reason (if it is a really old tv) is that the TV simply chops a little bit of the picture off at the edges although it would be very strange if it chops so much off that you can't read subtitles correctly.

My reply is probably not that technical in answering your question because with no TV make and model I don't have much to go on.

Mine has the same problem only the picture is slightly crooked too and it's the lower left that is cutoff.
EDIT: I've given up fiddling with it because nothing seems to work
