Civ 5 DirectX 11 Bug Still Unsolved

Really in need of some help here. I recently made a new computer and just bought civ 5 in the steam sale. After making sure the game and steam weren't in compatibility mode and installing the directXsetup.exe I still am not able to play the game in DX11. Trying to play the game in DX9 results in a black screen and the program becoming unresponsive. Please provide assistance in any way you can!

I had this briefly occur after setting steam to run as admin (was trying to sort something in another game, hadn't touched the other compatibility settings). Resolved by setting steam back to normal running, then rebooting. It might be worth trying.

Also, don't know anything about your specs, but it might be worth updating GPU drivers, any OC-ing software as well.

When you say you installed using directXsteup.exe, do you mean that you let the first time run version on steam run? There are multiple version of the D3dx.dll and steam runs to dx setup each time to make sure you have the right version.

First of all, what are you specs/OS?

Second, try downloading this [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35] and running it.[footnote]all DX11 updates are delivered via OS updates[/footnote]

third, if all fails try reinstalling the game.
