I didn't find the ending of MGSV abrupt. I don't understand why everybody is so upset about a missing chapter. I definitely don't want another prequel. Prequel stories usually aren't good. I think MGSV should have been a sequel to MGS4, with a new character.
How can you not?

Liquid Snake basically steal a Metal Gear in the end of the game and that's supposed to be the end? I know that the unfinished mission 51 is on the special edition but there's still plenty of ground to cover afterwards, which is why people are upset. There's ~10 years until MG1 happens, so what did he do during that time? We only know some things like that Venom Snake built a new Metal Gear with nukes. The ''only'' plothole that MGSV filled is how Big Boss ''survived'' MG1.

Fans expected Kojima to close the gap between Peace Walker and MG1 but they didn't come very close. You might not but alot of people enjoy Big Boss storyline to be more interesting than Solid Snakes and that is very clear considering how big of a success MGS3 was.

Ugh, I hated Call of Duty: Ghosts. Hated the campaign, hated the characters, hated the story. Just hated it all around. But I do admit, I kind of want to know what happens. That ending was B.S. for so, so, SO many reasons, but I still want to know how you get out of that mess. Not enough to buy a sequel, but maybe just read a summary about it.

I'm one of the rare people that would like to know what happens next in Dead Space because I enjoyed 3 as well as the DLC--even if it made the cliffhanger worse. I'd also like to know what happened to the survivors from Dead Space 2's DLC, and what the deal was with the tease that the main character might not be dead.

Anyway, I'd like a proper sequel to the original Mass Effect trilogy, seeing as Shepard can still be alive in one of them (and also because I kind of want them to just burn 3's ending off the face of the planet).
I'd also like to know what happens next in the F.E.A.R franchise, since either way, it's pretty clear the Fettel is still out there.

Hello, THQ Nordic. They said Darksiders III is slated for 2018.

I'm still waiting for a Viewtiful Joe 3. It was planned to be an epic trilogy, but Capcom pulled the plug on developer Clover Studios shortly after Viewtiful Joe 2. The series sputtered and died after two lackluster spin-offs (a gimmicky DS title and a poor Smash Bros. knock-off) and never gave fans the grand finale we so desperately wanted.

Henshin a go-go...more like Henshin a no-no, amirite?
Fuck Capcom so hard in the ass. What sucks is that both games made good to decent sales, Capcom were just being dicks. If anything, it was a foreshadowing of worse things to come.

I'm gonna be honest, video game cliffhangers is something that needs to stop.

I know that they must tease another one in an attempt to ensure a sequel, but they usually forget to make a good game in the process, and then there are the other cases where the story simply feels hollow because it has been built up for a whole lot of nothing.
Agreed. That is why nobody will never see another dark Sector game. And no, Warframe doesn't count.

Dead to Rights III - The reboot doesn't count and while Jack's story had no loose ends in the original game, it was implied that he was going to have adventures outside of Gran City. What we got was an unnecessary prequel that made no sense.

VJ 3

Time Splitters 4

Devil May Cry 5 - Either finish Nero's backstory, focus on Dante, or make the game about Sparda's past exploits. I don't care which one, but if I had to choose, the 2nd option.

DmC 2 - Thank Christ this is never happening!

XIII 2 - That cel-shaded FPS based off a comic nobody remembers.

Dante's Inferno 2 - I admit, it would have been interesting to see how Purgatory and Paradise were potrayed; given it was implied that Dante would have to fight God himself.

F.E.A.R 4 - Though I consider Pointman's ending the true one in F.3.A.R. Just ignore Fettel's little monologue. If there is a 4th main entry, have the story be about something else.

Huh, I was thinking about this recently, funny.

Anyway.

And these were the exact games I was thinking of.

I was thinking about Dante's Inferno recently, wished it was a better game but I still thought it was relatively solid and still want a sequel, I have no idea how it could be done from a creative standpoint though.

There's your suggestion in which Dante's fights against these kingdoms but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
I was writing the long form of this a minute ago but the short version is I don't picture Dante goin' three rounds with the Christian God, just as a character; I'm sure there could be some story twists and turns but I don't picture a former crusader picking a bone with God.
And then there's maybe that the forces of Hell have successfully invaded the other Kingdoms but then it would just be a rehash of the first game with no true escalation of threat.

I'm not saying it can't be done, I love being surprised but I have no idea how it would work, still want it though.

As for F.E.A.R. 4, I just thought F.E.A.R. 3 was kinda weak and don't want to see the series fizzle out like that.

Also interested in this.

I did google "darksiders 3 2018" and I did get a bunch of speculation. Most of it coming from the same website - weirdly it seemed like they just reworded the same article multiple times as it was referencing the Warmastered Edition and speculating that DS 3 might be a thing and it might be in 2017 or 2018. But nothing official. Other hits were also very amusing about Half-Life 3 [http://www.universityherald.com/articles/57810/20161229/half-life-3-rumored-to-be-vr-ready-released-in-2018-gabe-newell-discusses-plans-on-older-titles-video.htm]. And...the next thing I got was this thread.

The fact that Half-Life 3 is still in development limbo is just mind boggling to me. Soon it'll be 10 years since the Orange Box. That's twice as long as there was time between Half-Life 1 and 2. Twice as long as it took for the whole Mass Effect trilogy to be released. And that the episodes for HL2 were meant to be pioneers for a new era of videogame storytelling and sequel making is at this point so ironic it goes beyond irony into some sort of meta-level singularity.

I think it'd be neat if they named the next game F.E.4.R. And the next one F.E.A.R.5. (get it... cuz it's like, a plural, he he). And of course the sixth game in the series would be called F.E.A.R.:6loodlines. Hurr hurr...
