Just thought I would share this story about an encounter between myself and a rather distasteful troll on Youtube; there is some swearing, mostly from the troll's posts, so be warned! :O Also, personal details like screen names, personal names, etc, have been edited out.
All right, this is a bit of a longish one; I was poking around looking for videos on troll bashing, and I came across a series of videos by someone who was basically telling someone who had been perpetually harassing him, and anyone he socialized with, to back off. This troll had been calling the video maker a pedo, swearing, usual bs like that, right? He even went so far as to post generally abusive and sexually-explicit insults on the video of a teenage boy who had subscribed to him, five in a row in fact. Now, I hate bullies, with a passion, and someone who picks on a kid like that is just asking to get their profile spammed and eaten by weasels. So, I post a reply directly after this troll's frothing spam, as follows;
" Good sir, on behalf of Canada, I'd like to inform you that your video's Comments section has been tragically infested by what I like to call Idiotus Hathosus. Nothin Super about it. Unfortunately, killing trolls is still a misdemeanor in some states, the crappy ones, anyway, so as much as I admire your facing him, blocking is always an option.
*********, also on behalf of Canada, I'd like to say that you're an insect. Please die in a fire. Thank you."
Long story short there, the kid did, and deleted the abusive comments; happy ending for all. So, feeling pleased with myself, I went to bed, woke up the next day, went to work, yada yada yada.... and when I get home and log in, I find there's a comment pending on my channel. Uh oh. I set the comments on my videos, and channel, for Approval only, because my next video WILL be about a troll, and thus I want to fend off others, so I was the only one who got to see it; it went as follows.
" I may be a scumbag but ********* is a Pedophile.. Ask him WHY he has a 16yr old mentally challenged "KID" coming to stay with him 4 a week in December.. 1 week to see 1WTC?? (World Trade Center) I don't think so.. Poor kid is gonna be in serious trouble.. I'm reporting **** to NYPD If this kid makes it over the Pond.. **** has no girlfriend.. He just posted a vid a week ago.. Why doesn't any girls like me? why cant I find a woman.. Probably because youre vids attract kids,, and thats the way he likes it.. That Poor *******.. Check him out *************(link) on youtube.. Then **** is creepy, posts a vid of his grandmas lasts minutes of life be4 she dies,, on camera.. Tell him *********(the troll) is on to him and hates pedophilesss [/b]"
Now, understand a few things. One, I had poked around this guy's activity list, and his posts were relentlessly immature, harsh and hostile, lashing out even as he pumped himself up as a big deal. This sort of hurt his credibility when he claimed his target, a man he had never met personally before, was a supposed unregistered pedophile, particularly given how this troll had treated that kid earlier. In fact, it looked more like he had decided he was just trying to get someone to help him on his little campaign.
My reply;
" Aaah, the inane rantings and desperate self-justifications. I obviously have no personal experience with the people involved in this, but if you thought for a moment that there was genuinely pedophilia taking place, you'd contact the authorities like any responsible adult and wash your hands of this. Instead, you're electing to stalk these people around the Internet waving a banner and claiming the moral high ground, even as you plunge to intellectual depths so dark, you sound like a Doomsday-ranting street prophet. Also, you're posting sexual content in the comment section of the boy you're, um, 'protecting,' so have to say you seem guiltier of pedophilia than anyone else I've seen in this incident. Of course, that would have to mean you hated yourself, which WOULD explain all the aggression, I suppose... "
Well. From his next message, he obviously didn't like THAT.

In case all the zeros confused you, yes... I edited it out of the original message, but he might have actually given me his phone number. After I made just one reply! Course, it might have been fake; I sure as hell wasn't going to call it, given I'm not stupid enough to let the lunatic know where I am. So what could I do with this information? Hmmm...
" Let's see... give my contact information to an unbalanced lunatic to have him shout in my ear at three in the morning and, probably, track me down with a machete.... oooooor piss him off even MORE by letting him flail uselessly as he cries over the shattered dreams of what he once thought was wit. ...naaaaah. I know, I know, you can't actually out-smart me, so you want to just try and win with volume, but Terry, my dear friend, buddy, compadre, amigo, just because you can be loud doesn't mean you can be right. I sincerely hope you find the help you need, and I will be more than happy to pass on your -I'm guessing probably real- phone number to the people you're abusing. I'm sure they'd love to have an idea as to where you are. Wasn't that PITBULL fella looking for you three months ago? "
And you know what? That's exactly what I did. Haven't heard from him since, even though my reply came just four minutes after his last registered activity.
Course, I don't always get into message wars with trolls. Sometimes I make videos bout em. =D
