Clubs in Amsterdam?

Hey hey hey, chiiiildren.
I will be moving to Amsterdam at the start of next semester, and I would like some tips on decent night-clubs (preferable rock/goth/electronic-clubs) and general places to hang.
If Escapist wanna meet up and party/talk/game, I'm up for that too.

The Paradiso was a decent club i visited on my last stay in Amsterdam. Audience was mixed and mature, so only some stray hipsters, chavs, etc. I was there for a bigger electronic event, so it could be different at other events. But for a start you could always visit Resident Advisor for a brief overview over the major clubs. For the underground/scene parties you have to rely on hearsay and your contacts because tourists/visitors are there not always welcome.
