COD:MW2 Problems

I was playing MW2 today and I wanted to see the scoreboard so I hold tab and everything starts lagging. I'm rubberbanding back and forth so I decide maybe I should join a new game. Join a new game, no rubberbanding but horrible lag. I got the game a little bit ago and it didn't lag at all. Please help it does this on the campaign also now!

You rubberband and lag on the campaign?
That is impressive.

(What is the issue with the campaign? I don't believe that you lag out in it, could be a framerate issue in which case turn your graphics down because your computer can't handle it.)

please help, somebody.
Whenever I go to splitscreen I get a loading bar, which, when fully loaded, stops moving (the game should start) but instead at the top of the screen it says "awaiting challenge" for up to 5 minutes, before I reset the game.
Does anyone have the same problem or any suggestions?

Have you people tried the MW2 forums? Surely they would be able to help you a lot more than we can?

to OP: if your playing on pc, you might want to turn down specular textures

i noticed a significant difference on my rig from changing it from EXTRA to HIGH

it made the game have a much smoother over all frame rate

inb4 COD:MW2? THERE'S your problem.

Also, I know it's hard to with match-making, but try and play with a bunch of people from around your area, the closer you are the lower your lag.

MW2 has noob killstreaks such as a tactical nuke, chopper gunner, ac130 etc....
it has tons of problems and the campaign sucked
