the walking dead was a graphic novel before it was a tv show.

watchmen is popular. most frank miller novels (sin city!).

i think the maxx was a comic before it was a badass cartoon too.
I was going to watch the walking dead but I missed the first episode and cause I am weird I didn't watch it after that :D

Thanks for the suggestions I will look into those.

I think Scott Pilgrim would be the obvious one, since it's the bestest best comic I've ever read. Hell, it's better than most of my favourite films and games too.

The Sandman is an excellent read if you like twisty fantasy. Runaways is also good, though it declines in quality after Vaughn leaves the series. And the Secret Six is also awesome.

Other recs: Y the Last Man, Fables, Swamp Thing.

I did not really consider it, my bad really.

As long as I can follow the story line easily enough I don't mind reading something half way through.

As long as its good I don't mind really.

Marvel are currently doing a run of one off comics called Point One, for their bigger names. The idea is if you've never read say an Iron Man comic, it fills you in on his backstory so you wont feel totally lost when you pick up future issues.

I've been reading the monthly D&D comics as theyre a nice refreshing change from other styles.

It'd very much depend on what sort of things you like though, they are quite varied and diverse.

If you want a well rounded line up go for:

The Sandman
Y-The Last Man
Watchmen

Ok cool, if i can I will give Point One a sounds good.
the little contact I have had with D&D I have liked so I might give it a go in the future some time.
