We all have our own ideas of what Commander Shepard looks and acts like (moral choices ftw!). I haven't really kept up to date with the Mass Effect movie that's currently in the works, so I don't really know if a decision has already been made or not.
Who do you think would be best suited to play the role of Commander Shepard (male or female), that is, if the movie will follow the general idea of the games. I think Christian Bale could pull it off, or maybe Gerrard Butler. As for a female Shepard, I'm not quite sure, because unlike the male Shepard, Jennifer Hale's voice made that character for me.

Your ideas. Give them too me!

I think that a female Commander Shepard in a movie would be ground-breaking... so it won't happen. One of those two generic handsome buffs mentioned here (Christian Bale, Gerrard Butler) would probably be a good choice for increasing sales, though.
Heck, they might even be able to deliver half the lines in a convincing manner ;)

Christian Bale, minus Batman voice
Gerald Butler, as he can only play bad-asses
Bruce Campbell, because I can

I like the idea of Gerard Butler as Commander Shepard, I think he would be a good one, especially for Renegade Shepard.

Sean William Scott, think about it. He's done more serious stuff recently, except Cop Out, which was alright.

Well either him or the guy that played the Human Tourch in F4

I don't know who they should pick, but most likely the character will be a male soldier-type person because that is the default character.

If the model who they based his default look off of is any good at acting, I'd say him. Failing that Liam Neeson would (imo) make an awesome Sheperd, especially if he was Paragon who isn't afraid to go renegade now and again.

Btw the fem-shep VA was terrible in 2.

The idea of a woman saving the galaxy is unsettling to some people your right. Something i'd personally like to see but predictably the movie will have the a male paragon shepard because nobody likes a renegade. I reckon it would be someone like Gerad Butler. Bruce Willis would have been good but he is too old now.

I was thinking of Liam Neeson, but I think he looks a little too old to play Shepard. I thought Hale was awesome in 2.

I can actually see Christian Bale doing that. Plus, I don't think they would get the model the stock Shepard was based on to do the part.

I'm thinking Christan Bale would make a good Shepard. Although the role seems perfect for that one dude from Avatar (the Australian dude).

EDIT: The Australian dude's name is Sam Worthington
