How is it a company that has been around so long could produce a game such as Fury that is such a steaming load of rubbish. Latest news has Auran going down the drain following along with their newest door stopper Fury?
Fury has missed the mark on so many level its insane to think they even let it market, but what are your thoughts?
Simple- they ran out of time and money.
They banked on Fury being a big, huge return for them, and unfortunately had to keep throwing money into the pit- to give up on it would be sure failure, but no matter how much time and effort and money they put into it, it never turned around and became what they wanted- eventually, time was up, money was past gone, and they either had to release it and pray it would be successful... or simply fold and wind up out anyways.
It happens from time to time- game companies limboing on the release of one title that'll either save the day or pull the rug out from under them- Fury's a big deal simply because it's an incredibly drastic example- It's a pile of ideas, some good but nothing's fleshed out or fully realized. Of course, spending 13 million on one project that isn't a AAA title from one of the Big Nine and not being close to done should be the first clue something got out of control- and probably why nobody scooped them and their project up to save their floundering ship and reap the profits as the title hits retail.
But it basically boiled down to either a) The game hits retail, defy the odds, and recoup enough to try and fix the game later or b) Give up and close their doors regardless, and they chose to pick the option that at least had the potential for a happy ending.
Of course, anyone who actually BOUGHT Fury... well, they might not be as understanding.
