After watching the escape to the movies avenger episode, i realized that not to many movie series have their universes tied in with one another. the only series I know like that is the viewaskew movies with clerks, mall rats, chasing amy, jay and silent bob strike back, dogma, and clerks 2, each of these movies explain something from the other, (like in clerks they talk about a girl that dies swimming and then in mall rats that movie takes place where that little scene was left off) its the little things that make those movies entertaining and when you see all of them you notice all the tie ins with one another. Are their other movie universes like this?

Can't think of any off the bat, but the character Earl McGraw pops up in a few Tarantino/Rodriguez films (Planet Terror, Death Proof, Kill Bill, From Dusk Till Dawn).
I think it can really add to the enjoyment one gets from a film, since it's familiar, and you feel like you're 'in on it'.

I know Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are tied together. There's two brothers, one in each movie. They were going to have a prequel about them, but now it's too late since John Travolta's old(er).

Also, as bishbashbosh said, the Tarantino and Rodriguez films are sometimes tied together, especially the Grindhouse flicks. I'm not sure who Earl McGraw is, but the one cop from Death Proof is also in Planet Terror. Planet Terror actually takes place after Death Proof. It's not really a sequel, but parts of it are in the same town.

The cop is also in From Dusk Till Dawn and Kill Bill. He appears often.

OP:There's a theory floating around that Avatar is set in the same universe as Aliens, only 200 years or so after.

It would explain why the marines are so gun-happy. If your only experience with Alien life thus far had been Xenomorphs, you'd hardly be nice to every new alien you meet.
Hmmm. That makes sense, what with the mech suits in both, the cryogenic spacetravel thing, and what you pointed out, but it seems more like wishful thinking to me. Unless James Cameron wanted to be really, really subtle about it.

On topic: I was just going to say the Reservoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction one. That's the only one I can think of right now.

@Jumping_Over_Fences: I thought he might be the Sheriff. Thanks, that's who I meant in my post.
@Furburt: That's true... I didn't even notice that, but now that you said it, I definitely remember him from those films.

Well as most/all of them have already been said im going to bend the rules a little bit.

For me it always seemd that Halo and Mass Effect could have been linked as the Turians are very similar to Elites and Volus are similar to grunts. As well as the fact that in Mass Effect they talk about the First contact war with the Turians, In which the events occasionally seem very similar to Halo's backstory of the war against the Elites.
