Connecting PS3 to PC

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion 20 and I'd like to connect my PS3 to it but I'm not sure what kind of wire to purchase. I've heard of the HDMI converter wire thingy, but looking at it, it doesn't seem it would fit anywhere into my computer. I'd like to get whatever it is from Amazon for cheap. Please help?

If you want to capture video you'll need a capture card. For standard definition I suggest one of these [http://www.ezcap.tv/usb-video-capture/ezcap116-capture-card]. I've got one and it does a fairly good job, there are cheaper ones but they can have dodgy drivers and build quality (I got this one because it's the cheapest I could find that is Windows 8 compatible). Though HDMI capture cards are a lot more expensive ($100+) and I haven't tried any so I don't have a recommendation.
