Console exclusives that would have been great on PC

What console exclusives do you think would have been great on PC - either due to a modding community, ability for different controls such as a mouse and keyboard, or just that you would prefer to play them at a desk instead of on a couch?

I'm really gutted the Halo games never made the full transition to PC. Not only did I actually want to finish the story, but I'm sure a map and modding community would have been really strong on the PC and it could have had a strong competitive scene. Sadly since I won't ever get an Xbox they won't be played.

I'm also a bit sad The Last of Us isn't on the PC. Simply because I absolutely hate the controls on PS3 and everythings really awkward. If only I had my trusty mouse and keyboard to play it.

The big one for me however is Red Dead Redemption. I've just started playing it, and it's big open western world would be perfectly suited for modding in the style of Skyrim. Survival mods could really enhance the game so it's a shame it was console exclusive.

I saw the title and immediately thought of both RDR and Halo which you already mentioned. Seeing MGR: Revengeance coming to the PC earlier this year in a decent port made me clamour for Bayonetta following the same route. Let?s not even get started about Bayonetta 2 which would be such a blessing. Modding in even more costumes and different enemies could be a lot of fun. It?s also a genre which I feel is underrepresented on the PC, perhaps due to controllers not being automatically assumed to be in possession of players.

Really now you're making this thread? Good disguise I suppose, here I'll save some time for the incoming people. "All of them because I hate exclusives, Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft", pre-order for talk of "PCmasterace" and "Peasants".
That is what you want to hear so there you go. Buy the day 1 DLC if you want to hear about why PC exclusives are not included when exclusives are mentioned negatively.

Anyway now that has hopefully discouraged the worst of the bunch. Modding community is the only one of the three you mentioned that can be taken as a credible response. Those who'd rather play at a desk are... well being dishonest to themselves, or have some odd fetish. Controller is also irrelevant as those you are playing with are using the same controller as you so you are at no disadvantage on that front for it to be a problem, K+M would thus be a lateral movement as than everyone you played with would also use K+M.

Halo 1 just recently got a big mod, check it out.

Red Dead Redemption is one mentioned more than it should, it might well rank up at number 1 on the list of most wanted... no idea why though but people will like different things.

Lol what are you on about?

Playing at a desk is more comfortable for some of us. If I play at my desk I can sit in my own room, and not have other people come in and disturb me whilst I'm playing in the living room on the TV. You can also sit up right in a comfortable chair with support for your arms on your desk, rather than slouched out on a couch or leaning forward. It's simply the preferable experience to me, it's more comfortable and I like being closer to the action.

Controller is not irrelevent for a single player game. I like being able to use a mouse for aiming and mouselook, it's simply better for me. A lot of people also like being able to re-map controls and like the extra precision of mouselook rather than the often uncomfortable and intrusive control schemes on controllers.

So sorry I have a "fetish" for sitting in a comfortable desk chair and preferring a K+M and that has angered you so much mate.

That the whole "I have ogre's hand" thing?

Look a bit above all that, how you could get me as being "angry" at something I pretty much just dismissed with no fanfare... who knows.

The only thing I ever thought would play best on PC were RTS games, and even then that's only because I was introduced to them on PC.

Most of the time I just want games to be on PC because more people would get a chance to play them. Vice versa too. I'm glad games like The Banner Saga are being ported to consoles and handhelds.

Anyway, when I first played Atelier Rorona it kind of felt like the game was designed for PCs, because the font used for alchemy and item discriptions was do gosh darn small. I had trouble reading them on my tv screen.

Also, it's kind of sad the PC doesn't have any platforming games on the scale of Mario these days. It'd be fun to see what the modding community could do with that. If Little Big Planet is any indication: a lot.

(As for locations: sometimes, I hook my laptop into my tv and use a controller to play PC games as if they were console games. Works great for stuff like Ys (I love Ys). Point 'n click adventures are definitely something I prefer to play sitting at my desk. But if the 3DS had more games like that, I'd play them on that system. Complex stratey/similation games feel like they need to be played at a desk, with a mouse and keyboard.)

Red Dead Redemption would have been amazing, yeah. It's a shame they never even ported it.

My main choice would be the Halo series, though. Just give it to us, Microsoft. You'll make money, for god's sake.

All of 'm, I guess?

Since it's nice for everyone to have access to all games.

Eitherway, I don't really care since I don't game on my PC at all.

I would kill for a PC port of MGS3 Subsistence. Being able to use the texture import feature for real? Character swap mods where you get to play as Ocelot / The Boss / Whatever?

Lollipop Chainsaw, for no other reason than I've often thought while powering up my 360 "Why doesn't this have a PC port?" Any Grasshopper games, really. I would love to play No More Heroes without having to go out and get a Wii.

Other than that,

all of them, as I cannot think of any stand outs that have not already been mentioned.

Though I do have another reason for why games should be all be ported over. That would be so that games don't disappear with a generation or whenever the publisher feels like not making re-releases of the game.

And some console exclusives: inFAMOUS and Uncharted spring to mind, mostly because I could get rid of my PS3 if I could play them on the pc

I have only one title to add. Dragon's Dogma. If any console title in the last generation was crying out for a PC release it was this one. But Capcom evidently hate money and, in order to avoid making any they decided not to release it. Why on Earth would they want to make millions of dollars, porting the last bonafide great game they made to a platform whose players love that kind of game?

If they made DD and better yet, a toolset available on PC, the community would flock to it en masse. They'd have launched a franchise that would guarantee future sales on name alone, garnered considerable good will and released a game they can be proud of, unlike RE6 and other recent garbage. But again, it would unfortunately mean they would make millions of dollars and we know they hate money so it just won't happen.

Well, the default answer would be "All of them" because I'd like to have all the options on the table for myself, but really, the only games I've wanted to play recently but haven't been able to due to console exclusivity are the Bayonetta games.

endtherapture didn't say anything bad about consoles beyond not being comfortable with the controls, why do you immediately jump to disguises and pc master race talk? they didn't mention anything beyond personal preference, so please, tone it down.

how is modding the only "credible" response? I much prefer to play at my desk as well, my chair is comfy and the desk height is perfect for my arms to sit at, not to mention all the other things I typically have in front of me while gaming (food/drink by my arm, playing in windowed mode to watch shows or listen to music in the other part of the screen). controls can vary greatly for me personally depending on the game, sometimes a controller feels more natural then the KB+M not to mention maybe 2% of the games I play are multiplayer, so why should I care what other people are using, big deal? why is that not credible?

why is red dead redemption overmentioned? is this not entirely subjective on what someone would like to see on a different platform? you yourself mentioned people like different things, so why is it worth mentioning with that tone?

now perhaps there is some odd reference in there, but what in the heck does your wikipedia reference have anything to do with this thread? there is some very weak link in there perhaps when referencing properties (or in this case, IP's), otherwise I don't get it.

OT: pretty much any rpg, I'd love to see some modding communities to sink their teeth in to some of consoles greatest rpg's, many games (that are my favorites) would be quite the refresher to play with deeper stats/customization and reworking of enemies. Hell it would be awesome to see getting to lvl 100 in pokemon become revelent in single player, either by having more locations or having the enemies scaled in the main game to be lvl ~90ish when you reach the end game, or heck, even different starters, or have a random generator for the starting pokemon.

(there are plenty of fake pokemon games in the making out there, but obviously without proper support or constant "seize and desists" being thrown around they don't end up being much).

I dunno, Journey? I'd kind of like stuff like that to get ported so i play them without needing a PS3. Though I'm kind of sour on the devs for their comments regarding xbox owners.

I think more JRPGs would fit on PC. Mainly though, I just want my god damn HD remake or just a port of Skies of Arcaida Legends already. Come on SEGA, you already put Valkyria Chronicles and many other Dreamcast games on there, so why not just get one of the best Dreamcast games on there as well! >.<
*already has GameCube port of Legends, but wants something in a higher resolution than 480i*

By GOW do you mean Gears of War or God of War, Gears 1 had a PC port but if I remember correctly it was crap

OT Nintendo games (Metroid Prime 1-3 especially). It will never ever happen but I think the Metroid Prime series would be perfect if given a competent port.
