Cool and unique achievements!

Yayz, my first topic.

Anyway, I was skimming through the forum when I saw a thread about achievements that you see way too often in games. I'd like to ask you, members of the Escapist: What are some achievements that you think are really cool or unique.

I apologize for not having an example of my own, but it is late and my memory isn't at it's best.

That gnome-achievement in Half-Life 2.

Though I would probably never be able to do it. Still, it's freaking awesome.

I kinda like the "Black Plague" achievements.. The ones where if you win in a match against the developer you get it, and if someone beats you, they get it, and it just spreads..

Unfortunately, several of those wind up dead halfway along the line, but I still like them.

In retrospect I should have thought of that one. So yeah, gotta agree with you there.

Many of TF2's achievements. Most of the ones I have, I didn't have to try and get as well. I just got them.

Also, Cl0wned in Left4Dead 2. You have to honk 10 clowns noses

the achievement you get for hitting start at the beginning of the Simpsons game!
also there was one in that game you get for dieing like 20 times in a row called pwned.

I always thought "my brother is an Italian plumber" from Borderlands was quit creative. For those of you that don't know, you get it for killing an enemy by jumping on its head. However, head jumps are so hard to pull off and do such minimal damage that you have to almost kill the enemy and then precisely jump on it. I think I got the achievement on a spiderantling.

Battlefield bad company: fall 200 meters before you pull your parachute.
after 200 meters "WHAT IS THE PARACHUTE BUTTON!!!!!" and then you hit the ground and die
achievment unlocked! "there is no parachute right?"......

You have to tie a woman up and put her on the train tracks to watch her be squished.

It's not technically an achievement, but I feel like I achieved something when I got it. It's the 'What the ??' challenge from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2..and it's damned hard to get.

"Flushed" from The Orange Box. You get it by killing an enemy with a toilet.

Pretty easy, except there's only one toilet in all of Half-Life 2 that you can actually pick up with the gravity gun.

It's funny, because I got that achievement totally on accident really early on in the game, and, being web-less at the time, had no clue what in the world I did to get it

Red Dead Redemption has a couple of funny achievements, like "Dastardly" and "Heading South on a White Bronco," I found those two to be very amusing. Dastardly is great for being a nod to that classic spaghetti western villain maneuver, and "Heading South" simply for the pop culture reference, one that quite a few young'uns might not even get without a little research on their part these days.

The Orange Box had a smattering of very creative, challenging achievements "The One Free Bullet" (complete the episode shooting only one bullet) in HL2:Ep1 stands out as one with the most fun I've had tackling a challenge simply for the points.

I'm pretty certain that every toilet in the Nova Prospekt washroom where you fight the antlion guard can be yanked off the wall....and there's several of them.
