There was a thread on Hack Wars awhile back, it's basically an MMO hacking game with: real-programming, crazy PvP action, your own in-game website, etc.
Any ways, they've recently added an insanely cool feature, an in-game game creation engine (kind of like something like RPG Maker). Players use the in-game scripting language to create their own arcade-games, which they can then sell in the in-game store, or eventually publish outside of game -- to my knowledge this is the first MMO to have indy-game making as a potential play mechanic.
In honor of Hacktendo's release Hack Wars is running a summer-long game design contest, where the maker of the best game in Hacktendo will be rewarded a cool $50.
