AS title sugest, this topic is about wich weapon you love the most, from a videogame you've played. Or your favorite videogame weapon.

Could be anything, pistols, shotguns, chainguns, rocketlauchers, swords, blades, balls, you name it. Anything that kills, harms, pacifies, stuns, or such is accepted.

My own?
The devastator weapon from Duke Nukem 3d.

Just the feel of carrying a chaingun/rocketlauncher, and using it of course, beats practicly any weapon out there for me. The first time i took down a army of mutated pigcops with it, i was sold.

Well, the most obvious choice would be the gravity gun especially a gravity gun with sawblades nearby. One of my all time favorites, however, is the blade gun in Unreal Tournament, nothing quite beat the sensation of shooting a ton of blades into a room and watching them bounce around like crazy.

I'm also a fan of the Half-Life crossbow but more because of the ragdoll bodies nailed to various game objects and not really because the weapon is cool on it's own.

Um, two, no make that three for me.

First is the morph gun from Jak II/3. Yes, it wouldn't work in reality (neither would most of our favorite weapons, I imagine), but the ability to cycle between twelve different weapons built into one gun is just part of the fun. I didn't like the Wave Concussor or a few of the mods, but the Reflector Rifle was my favorite toy for a long time.

Second is the Keyblade. Yes, I'm nuts for Kingdom Hearts. There's just something hilarious about saving all of existence with a giant KEY!

Finally, the R.Y.N.O.s from the Ratchet and Clank series. All of the Rip You a New One's are just a joy to work with, even if their ammo retention sucks. I do recognize that they follow in the grand tradition of the BFG9000s of their time, but the RYNO was my first exposure to the Big Freakin' Gun family.

PS: Actually, given how much I've been playing Assassin's Creed recently, I'd like to add the assassin's blade that Altaïr wears.

Landshark Gun from "Armed & Dangerous". It's a gun that fires hungry sharks that swim through the soil... how is that *not* awesome?!

The laser-guided missile in the HL2 series; really fun to use. (My biggest gripe with Ep.2 is the nerfing of those missiles for no apparent reason other than forcing you to play the final boss battle with "Magnussons" instead. Bleh.)

Doom's chainsaw. C'mon, now, do I really need to explain this one?

The WSTE-M shotgun in Marathon 2. Double-barrelled and dual-wieldable goodness.

The SPNKr rocket in the Halo series.

The M7057 "Defoliant Projector" in Halo PC and Halo 3, as well as the incendiary grenades from 3. (Yeah, I'm a virtual pyromaniac... which probably means I should get my butt into Team Fortress 2 soon.)

The Shrink Ray from Duke Nukem 3.

There's probably more, but gotta go.

I have yet to actually get to it, but the guitar in DMC3. I mean come on, you fight enemies by rocking the fuck out.

My favorite weapon in any game is physics. I love using the environment to my advantage whether that means cutting a rope in Dark Messiah, hurling saw blades in Half Life 2, or simply pushing someone over a balcony in Hitman.

Even before games had physics my favorite thing was using weapons with knockback to hurl my enemies over ledges to their doom. I remember doing that as far back as Double Dragon.

Hmm... I seem to have stuck with FPS games up there (except for A&D). Let's round that out a bit.

The Hammerhead's main gun in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. Also, the Broadsides' main armament from the same game when "stabilised".

The Tesla Coil from C&C: Red Alert.

The Oil Slick in Spy Hunter.

The submachine gun in Rolling Thunder.

Ack, pestistential phone...

I'd have to go with Zero Shift from Zone of the Enders 2 while not technically a weapon it was alot of fun to just teleport behind an enemy and kick his ass before he knew what happened.

The ball and chain in Twilight Princess. I went out of my way to use it after I got it (hell, throw the spinner and dominion rod in there as well). Once I actually knocked an enemy back so far that the battle music actually stopped. :D

The Chestburster from Turok: Rage Wars.

The game itself was pretty bad. An arena style multiplayer game with a lot of generic aspects, and the game had an unfinished feel.

But the Chestburster was very cool. It was kind of slow, but if you could hit another player with it, they had around 12 seconds before they fell over and an serpentine creature rips out of their chest. Isn't a very original idea, alien ripping out of someone's chest, but it was just a very cool gun to have. The Turok series featured some very fun weapons overall, it's a shame the series kind of went down the drain by the third installment.

Also, the Snarks from Half-Life. Not really a gun, but it was just so fun to let three go in a room with some Marines then charge in once they start firing trying to stay them off. Some very nice animations too when you just had the Snark out and idled.

Number One: Staff of Wizardry from Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara. Play this game enough times, and you'll be broke. Play it a little more and get some friends with you, and you can find this sweet baby and rock some goblin faces (and one-shot-kill 4-5 bosses simultaneously).

I have only touched it a few times... but the Halo 3 Spartan Laser could easily take number two favorite from Gravity Gun... Shoop da Woop anyone?

Oh, and the "option"'s (can't remember correctly, little glowing orbs) from Gladius 3.
