Just a little thought I had recently, everyone went on about how the original xbox one stuff was just so obviously dumb and since then Microsoft has slowly removed/fixed most of the stuff the announced stuff that was considered dumb.

So, one may ask could all of it simply been a ploy? Think about it, Xbox One is looking better everyday now and while PS4 has had next to no news and all but gone quiet the Xbox has remained almost constantly in the news with it's removal of previously announced terrible ideas. Keeping the console in peoples minds, making the company look like it's listening to it's consumers and making the console look better and better... Just a passing thought I had after reading yet another news post about an xbox one change that I thought I might share :).

No it doesn't, backpeddling doesn't make them look good at all.
If anything it means they're indecisive and will only listen to their consumers when they (finally) realise they're gunna lose money with their bad ideas. Not to mention this would have been the dumbest ploy in the world, to make your company which had a great reputation as the 3 console gaming elite and then smear that reputation into the dirt and then attempt to re-build what public relations and reputation you have left is the worst ploy in the world.

It may be removing it's bad features but the point is they didn't do it till prompted, it took the entire internet calling their product the "Xbone" constant jokes, constant insults, and a constant negative appearance in the media for them to finally realize they did something wrong.

If anything it just shows how desperate they are to get back customers.

[small] Also the news aint all good stuff infact just last week we had that article about how the available countries went from 20 something to 13 i think.[/small]

We did [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.819538-Could-the-whole-X1-DRM-issue-just-have-been-a-diversion] and we decided it wasn't for reasons already discussed in that thread. The short of it is "no, it's just that Microsoft have always done that".

No. Microsoft simply suffers from Corporate Asperger's. They can have brilliant ideas but are utterly incapable of communicating them clearly. Equally, they have terrible difficulty empathizing with their customers and understanding their wants and needs.

Don't bother with conspiracy theories when it comes to big corporates, governments and other large organizations. The reality - which is actually more frightening - is that they are, by and large, cumbersome, arrogant and inept.
