Could Chell be in a ep 3? "minor spoiler"(from portal 2)

Remeber the news from some time back, were they said Valve was hiring somebody to get a know-how for sign language?. This is proboably already posted somewhere, but "minor spoiler"



Chell has brain-damage and is, therefore, mute. Hypothesis:

Mute chell= sign language= ep 3.

Ergo, perhaps she could be in ep 3?

Well since they are apart in the timeline.. . Sign-language=x=Ep 3?

What can they be thinking of....

My guess is that there will be alot of hints towards Aperture Science in ep. 3, and since Chell is now out in the open, she could be playing a role.. Big or small..

Portal 2 is set MILLIONS of years after Portal 1 (which is set somewhere after HL2 like GLaDOS said in P1 "the world has changed")
maybe the Borealis but not Chell

There's little to no chance for Chell to appear in Ep. Three since, you know, she's in like Michigan's Salt Mines, and the next installment is going to develop most (if not all of it) in a boat in the middle of a frozen ocean, which I assume is the Arctic.

There's probably going to be like 2 or 3 references of Aperture Jokes, maybe Cave Johnson recordings, but I seriously doubt it'd be much further than that.

MAYBE a record of a "Subject CHELL" or a video tape inside the Borealis, but I can't tell.

There are decades difference between Half Life 2 and Portal 2.
By the time Chell escapes Aperture Science assuming they're in the same universe continuity, Society will have largely recovered and Freeman will long since have died of old age.

I highly doubt that it will happen. Valve wants to separate the two franchises, that's why Portal 2 is set so far in the future. Chell suddenly appearing in the next hl game, would make this redundant. Another point is that not everyone who likes Half-Life also likes Portal. If Chell was now a character in hl, then it would mean that people had to play a different franchise if they wanted to know more about her.

Since you play as Him and you don´t see his hands. How can he use sign language?.
If you dont play as Gordon then that will prove that anything can happen.

Nope, the events in Portal 2 are after the ones in half-life 2 so i guess not.

Well thats a bugger. The mystery is now then, how they will use the sign-language.

From what I understand the Black Mesa incident takes place during the time Chell is in stasis and Portal 2 takes is way into the future, so I doubt that she'll have any role in EP3/HL3. Unless of course Gordon is put into stasis as well by either G-man again or someone else.

The next time you wake up, the recorded voice says, "You have been in suspension for 9,999,999..." Seriously, it says 'nine' seven times. It doesn't specifically say days so it could be years, but even if we go with days, that's still 27,397.26 years.

Soooo...I'm going to guess that as of Portal 2, even though the Portal and Half-Life universes are connected, Chell is much further along in the timeline. Unless she's one of G-Man's other special subjects or Valve introduce a time machine, I don't think it has to do with her.

Portal 2 is set possibly centuries after the events of Combine taking over. Sure, you may get a mention of Aperture Science, but no Chell.

The 9,999,999 bit could equally be that the machine is broken, the facalaty wasn't too healthy remember. I think there might be a few easter egg type moments with Portal 2/Chell and maybe a G-Man type sighting of something, but not a major chacter or gameplay moment.

It's hard not to think that the sign language thing points to Chell making an appearance in HL2:3.

Personally I'd love to see GlaDOS interact with Gordon. Think of the fun she could have with this man of SCIENCE who just happens to have a personal body count that would put Rambo to shame.
