AT&T is obviously trying to buy Time Warner which is currently in the process of trying to buy Machinima, now this could lead to a big merger of youtube MCN's. AT&T owns Fullscreen through it's subsidiary Otter Media and we all know Machinima has been struggling in the last few years.

Now if your AT&T and this deal goes through, would you not turn the management of the struggling MCN to the successful one which you own? Thus creating a massive MCN featuring a lot of top youtubers and the largest such company on the planet.

The machinations of corporate entities over youtube doesn't seem to affect the channels I like, so I don't really care. Game Grumps I know had some issues with Polaris, but outside of a small time where they couldn't sing ANY songs for some idiotic legal reason, I never saw it affect the show itself. Rooster Teeth was acquired by Fullscreen but, perhaps due to already having been a successful corporation run by intelligent people beforehand, hasn't changed a bit since then beyond simple growth.

Most youtube channels function via their personalities, and corporations would have to be run by morons to try and disrupt that. So they mostly stay behind the scenes and make acquisitions of talent, taking in new revenue while leaving the talent alone. It's not always the case (some corporations are indeed run by morons or they'll try to grow the channel for more revenue), but from what I've seen that's how it goes.

If Fullscreen and Machinima do merge, it probably won't affect anything from Fullscreen that I watch (which as far as I know is just Rooster Teeth). Funhaus might make a joke about it since most of them used to work at Machinima at one point, but if Machinima is really struggling then it make just be dissolved into the corporate structure.
