Could you kill someone if you had choice?

Heres the morality test. You have the gun, and you've been told to shoot a man, on his knees, in the back of his head- but if you dont, the unseen mastermind making you do it will shoot you with a rifle from afar. You dont know the victim, but would put the value of your own life above that of a stranger? you can't wait it out, either. Make your decisions in one minute, or someone is going to die... Whats your choice?

Well, if I don't kill him, we both die. (I assume somebody else will be told to shoot him)
If I do kill him, only he dies.
So really, he's going to die whatever I do, and it makes sense to shoot him.

I'd still feel horrible about it though

I guess I would shoot the guy if I didn't know him. But I wouldn't feel good about it, and depending on how bad I felt later on, I might even take my own life just to stop feeling so guilty. In different circumstances, I'd be more or less likely to say no, but for this particular scenario, it's pretty balanced. I don't know. I guess I'd be too afraid to die, and since I don't know him, it wouldn't be so hard to pull the trigger. I wouldn't consider it real until it happened, and by then it'd be too late.

In a situation like that I think I would be able to kill him, not without hasitation, but to be honest I value my life far more than anyone elses.

This. If the hypothetical situation is "Kill someone or you die, no exceptions" then kill it is, doesn't really matter who the person is to me. My life is by far the most important thing to me, without it the world doesn't even exist for all I know and nothing has any value to me anymore anyway.

Not unless there was no other viable option. Ill beat the crap out of anyone who does something to any of my close friends or family, but killing is out of the question.

No. Definitely, no. I could go as far as, say, kicking someone if my life depended on it. Which I would then feel guilty about for ages if they were in any way hurt. Kill someone? Never. I have my priorities and I'm far from being at the top of the list. Other people come first.
