Well atleast the child has a good chance of ending up with better parents.

It was either get sold or die of neglect. Which is better? I know not.

But seriously, China should just green light home access computers and Internet. It'd be esier for parents to game and have kids.

As bad as this story is, its not the worst thing I've ever heard about parents attitudes to addictions to online gaming.

Which is a sad thing to admit in itself really.
I'll say.....I honestly thought this title would be misleading and that it wasn't literal....

*SIGH*

And people call me inhuman and insane when I say we should have a license system for having kids.

Apparently there is a huge demand for children in china. In fact there was some news article about a man tying his child to a pole so that he could not escape/be kidnapped.

Forced sterilization and abortions along with strict birth quota laws will cause that.

Hopefully, whoever bought the children will actually give a shit about parenting.

Whoever, they were, they can't be much worse.

I suppose we can only hope the kids went somewhere good. Anyway, I thought Chinese couples were only allowed one child?

That was repealed in the 90's I believe. China does the 1 child per family rule occasionally when their population reached critical density, but as soon as it reaches a safer level again they repeal it. It is not currently in effect.

Captcha: Touchy Feely. Love how this applies to the thread. If the parents weren't touchy feely with each other this wouldn't be a problem, and if they were a little more touchy feely in the emotional sense they wouldn't sell their kids. Brilliant.

I saw the title, and I thought "This had to have happened in South Korea." But nope, it's China. Surprise, surprise.

I hate to be the one to make this racially-charged assertion, but why is it that stories like this more often than not come from places like South Korea and China? I know that things like this have happened all over the world (like the infant that died from suffocation because the dad couldn't stop playing WoW for a few seconds to take the pillow off of its head), but the most fucked up ones seem to happen in that part of the globe. I remember a story of a couple whose child died of starvation because they were too busy raising a virtual child. And then this, which came from premeditated intentions, not just neglect.

It just makes no sense to me. None at all.

I dunno there is a comment on that page that says the story is made up. I did some looking as well and can't seem to find any other evidence of this story any where. Just other sites using that as a source.

Ironically, that's the trick. F2P is angling to get you to the point where you will pay and I'm pretty sure subscription nets far less in asia that microtransactions.
