Now, don't worry, this isn't yet another topic about whether or not the members of The Escapist believe in the ideals published in the Origin of Species. What I would however would like to know is people's thoughts on the reception of Jon Amiel's new film Creation, or in fact lack there-of, in the United States.
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, the British Director, Jon Amiel directed a film based on the life of Darwin, surrounding his moral battle concerning whether or not he should publish origin of species, both because of the reception he knew it would receive, and the desire to not push away his wife, who turned to religion after the death of their child.
Specifically, even with the film's stellar reception both at it's premier at the Toronto Film Festival, and subsequent showings around the world; American distributors have refused to take on the film because of the 'contravertial' subject matter found in the film. Do you, the people of the escapist find this concept as ridiculous as I do?
