let's see how objective you can be shall we?

I'll start. My favourite game (pre-Skyrim) is Soul Calibur IV. I bloody love this game, to the point where I've broken 2 CD's purely from playing it for so long. this said. While I love playing online, everyone uses the same 4 styles it seems. Ivy, Astaroth, Siegfried and Amy. This is frustrating because people seem to think that if you play those styles 'you'll be unbeatable'. This is simply not true. Since everyone plays them, and plays them all the same, an experienced player can block 80 percent of the moves, simply because nobody uses any variation. (Save for Astaroth...chain-throwing sunova..) anyways.

If rectified, balanced a bit more in the next game it wo uld be most appreciated. Also, let me make a custom Ezio Auditore damnitt! /shakes fist.

anyways, that finished, it's your turn escapist!

Hello Skyrim Dragon.
How nice of you to invite me to a bbq. Oh wait, I am the meat and you are the attendee?

Ho carps...
Anyway, after doing what the dragonborne does, the guards run at me and kill me...
The f guys? Apparently they suffer still from the Oblivion 'Kvatch' Syndrom sometimes =/
I.e. watch where you are swinging that blade or the guards think you're trying to kill them.. (not that I blame them, I'd think the same if a sword lands in my neck). The prima annoyance here is that they seem to get in the way sometime

Mass Effect 1 - Stupid inventory....
Mass Effect 2 - Mining. I actually prefer the Mako sections now.
Borderlands - Physics when in the car.

Is it wrong of me to point you to 8wayrun? You probably know of it already I wager. But if you don't head on down and talk shop with us:

My favorite game would probably be fallout 2. But it's been so long since I played it most of my criticisms have faded away.

I shall do so for my 3 favourites.

The lighting system in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is ridiculous. You can be standing in partial shadow, right in front of a guy with your goggles glowing green, and he won't see you. It's far too forgiving.

Alternatively, WH40K: Dawn of War has... well it suffers from... the main issue I have with it is...

...nothing, that game's perfect.

Mass Effect 2, however, is easy to criticise. Nobody likes that obnoxious mining mini-game.

This is too easy. Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines is not only ugly and buggy as hell, it is also sexist (with its sexualised female NPCs, a sidequest that lets you gather a collection of erotic posters depicting said NPCs, and most of the seducible characters being female). The plot is good enough for me to exuse these flaws, though.

I really hated the timed keypresses in BF3, so annoying to watch what is supposed to be a cutscene and then suddenly being catched off guard by "PRESS " in your face.

DICE, seriously: wtf?

I don't think this is my absolute favourite game of all time, but it's up there, so here goes.

The Dark Spire.

The interface could be a lot more consistent and make more sense. For example, you can use the L and R buttons to switch between characters in menus. Except when you can't. Then there's the "destroy item" thing. If you press Y, the currently highlighted item is instantly destroyed, with no confirmation. Also, the game doesn't tell you anything about the weapons and armour besides the price and what classes can use them, so the only way to know if a new weapon is better than an old one is to try it out and see how it works.

The game also has a bunch of things that you just have to know. The requirements for secondary classes aren't told anywhere in the game, for example. I haven't decided if this is a bad thing, though.

Still, other than the not-so-great interface, the game is really good.

Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars:
It's actually pretty easy. Sure, there are some challenging moments, but the player isn't really in that much trouble. And when the biggest sudden spikes in difficulty happen(Megasmilax comes to mind. Fuck you, Petal Storm...), aren't a challenge so much as it is annoying or the enemy being cheap.

Dragon Age 2 - Towards the end of the game, Mages feel underpowered and worthless and their Specialisations are pretty much useless in the long run.

Dragon Age Origins - The awkward gorilla like animations in battle are slightly off putting. The Fade Sequence, do I need to say more?

Diablo 2 - Maximum resolution is too small! That and Act 1 becomes very tedious.

Mass effect 1 - The inventory...

Fallout New Vegas - Laggy and crashes too often, Old World Blues was just boring and tedious

Let's see:
Shadow of the Colossus has rather awful camera controls.
Ocarina of Time has a rather sparse main field and a cliche story and can get rather repetitive, and hasn't really aged all that well.
Metal Gear Solid needs very little explanation: silly plot, silly characters, dated (hell, ugly) graphics, sorta awkward controls.
And dear god, Deadly Premonition is even worse. I mean, from an objective standpoint, that game is horrible. And yet I love it.

On the other hand(, I can think of pretty much nothing bad to say regarding either Chrono Trigger or Cave Story. I'll try, though, by saying that Cave Story is just too freakin' short, and Chrono Trigger has that issue I have with JRPGs as a genre: the gameplay mechanics are rather artificial.
Though honestly, it's a good thing Cave Story isn't over-long (and its length makes it perfect for replay), and Chrono Trigger's combat is so incredibly fun I don't care. So yeah. Perfect, perhaps.
