Since the release of the TF2 replay system, I've been trying my hand at making a few videos with it. This has been a bit harder since I'm a noob at this and I haven't made a Machinima type of... anything, ever.

I've made two so far, and would really appreciate any sort of feedback!

-What you liked
-What you didn't like
-What you think I could do better with the camera/footage
-What would be cooler to record

Just ANYTHING that would help me make more videos, but better in the future.

(I shot him, he didn't die from fall damage... I should work on making that clear in future videos.)

(I feel like some of my camera angles were more of a bother than it looking cool.)

EDIT: If you own TF2 and like the idea of making movies.. CHECK THIS OUT! It's a fun challenge to play the game and see if you can use the footage to make an interesting video, or just posting a funny clip. It's like all the cool theater modes in games such as Halo. Try it out and post some of your videos too if you have them!

Ugh. I know following those links will give you undeserved attention toward those asinine achievements, but I'll do it.

First one -- Try to slow the last segment down if possible (where the Soldier dies), or maybe show the Sniper shooting the arrow, because I just barely saw the streak of the arrow. Otherwise it's good.

Second one -- way too long and not even that great. If you sped up (or skipped) the parts where nothing interesting happened (such as the part where the Pyro runs off, or the moment around 0:25 where not much happened beside people running about), I would like it more.

Hey, Join this group. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Team-Fortress-2-Group-PC]

OT: I liked the first one, but they were both ok to be honest.

[small]I know you. You're the guy who tried to muscle/troll his way into my Digimon RP a few months ago. My God, I didn't think you were still on the Escapist.[/small]

I quite enjoyed both of your videos. The first one had me laughing quite a bit, seeing as how it looked like the Soldier faceplanted onto the roof. The second one dragged a bit, but it was still impressive.

I chuckled slightly when I saw the Pyro taunting.

I see chaos.

If you have a subject, you need to focus on it more. Get more frames per second and slow the action down, or make the subject clearer through other editing.

But seriously, this is for an achievement, right?
I think you're playing the game for the wrong reasons.

Edit: OK, I wasn't as helpful as I could have been.
In the first one there's a sniper (your guy?) somewhere, but he's not at all obvious. It would have been better if you could put in an opening clip that holds on the Sniper, and the area where he is. That would accomplish at least three things. Presents one of the principal subjects. Presents a principal subject's location. Sets the stage for the death of somebody (the soldier). That way, when we see the soldier die, we have a better idea why. Otherwise, I just see a soldier double-jumping with a harsh landing. Why should the audience strain to figure out that it was anything other than self-inflicted?
