Cross-console online matches

Let me explain what it would mean first. I'm talking about the ability for different consoles to play each other in online matches. I have this friend who plays COD4 on the XBOX, but I only have a PS3. We both tell stories of how amazing we are online, and I thought it would be good if we could play against other consoles online to prove it. So what do you think, would it be great if we could do it, or would it lead to a lot of fights we'd be better off without?

I think it'd be great, but as usual, it would lead to flame wars from 360-PS3 and vice versa. For people who aren't biased for one console, it would be absoloutely excellent, but also rubbish due to fanboys.

wouldn't happen cause both are "incompatible" this is why you can't do it with pc versions of xbox live games

i think it's a crock peronsally, they could do it but just won't
